It definitely seems to be interesting but I don't think it should be mandatory, however.As an alternative to transferring a 1.0 character directly into 2.0. SE should optionally (or mandatory) allow old players to create a new 2.0 character from scratch and enjoy the new low level content in 2.0, but receive a XP and GIL bonus equivalent to the XP and Gil earned in 1.0. All inventory items, misc. points/rewards from 1.0 would be carried over.
For example if a character earned 150,000 XP and 700,000 Gil in 1.0 took this option they would receive 200%(or any percentage) bonus on all XP and GIL earned in 2.0 until the bonus totals the amount earned in 1.0. They would again retain all inventory items, misc. points/rewards from 1.0.
