    For anyone curious, JP is also upset with this explanation.

    Bit ironic that a post essentially meant to be damage control has caused an even bigger backlash. This is honestly shaping up to be FFXIV's "WoW" moment. Do the devs actually listen like they claim or will they go the route WoW did, insist they know better and we just have to see their vision? The next several patches leading into 7.0 is going to be rather interesting.

    I'm also not happy about the current job balance, and I'm really disappointed about the way casters, my favorite role, are being handled in this expansion. They killed my enjoyment of playing my main SMN in Endwalker, so I'm not playing it as often anymore because there's basically no skill ceiling and it gets boring after a while. I think there's a lot of work to be done for the dev team, but I do acknoledge that they apologized for the problems and they still ask for more player feedback. Comparing the FFXIV to WOW is therefore really uncalled for in my opinion.

    We as players don't have as much information as the dev team does about a lot of things, so I'm willing to give them time to reconsider certain decisions and hopefully fix the issues over time. I'm glad they see how unhappy a lot of players currently are.

    Yes, the situation is ironic.
    The first part of the communication was okay and was just meant to clarify the previous communication.
    It's really the second part that infuriates the player base.

    I'm glad the community agrees, SQEX has no right to destroy a job complexity like MCH/SMN and then have the audacity to limit the job damage because the job is easier.
    If SQEX isn't able to create a correct floor and skill ceiling, they shouldn't limit the job potential.

    It's not our fault the job is easy.

    Yes, some classes in this game are harder and deserve more damage/anything else as a 'reward' but don't leave the other jobs not being able to do enough DPS to meet DPS check, which is actually one of the hidden mechanic in the raid.
    They deal lower damage does not mean they should not be doing ENOUGH damage.

    None of the jobs should ever be balanced on difficulty. Difficulty is a subjective metric and is always going to result in poor balance and jobs that are objectively bad.

    It leaves people ostracized. It's frankly disrespectful - are older/disabled players with motor difficulties just stuck playing classes that are arbitrarily nerfed and forever bad despite their utility and are (now) being excluded from parties?

    It's crushing certain players engagement - I really like steampunk and only a single job in this game offers it. Despite being a consistent orange/purple quad-legend, I was rejected from almost every Week 1 party because I was a MCH. I had to swap to DNC to find a group, despite me being very capable on MCH! Play what you want is not viable for anyone but casual groups anymore and it's extremely frustrating.
    Am I doomed to never be able to play my favourite class in high-end content because of difficulty balancing? Ignore the fact that DNC is incredibly easy and still smashes both MCH/BRD into the ground.

    It is baffling to me that SE sees the horrific drop in MCH, RPR, and RDM clears and thinks that the issue is the DPS check. All that has changed now is that the good classes are better, and the bottom classes will still be excluded because the good classes are now REALLY good and will destroy the DPS check they could already make.

    Ironically massive hitboxes make positionnals harder to pulloff, guess that's why they made them less important to land.
