Literally. We used to say back in the '90s, "be color blind," and people were actually going with it. Now our race and gender and sexuality need to be worn on our sleeves, all of that stuff comes before actually just being a human. We're deeper into this nonsense than we were 20 years ago.
Society likes the fact that one guild can be 100% black, another can be 100% Latino, but if you make 100% white then you're a racist. 100% women is OK, 100% transgender is OK but 100% men is socially unacceptable.
Take a look anywhere in life, we are doing nothing as if everyone were equals. And, disgustingly, it excites us when we see egregious racial crap in the news. "White woman calls cops on Black man for being in a park," should really be "Human calls cops on other human for being in the park." The races are irrelevant. Even if the intent was racism, the races are irrelevant.
But we are ridiculously, sickeningly caught up in what race or what gender is involved. It's everywhere. And it doesn't seem to be going away.
So, until we come to our heads and stop segregating ourselves into "groups for (sexuality) people," and "groups for (race) people," and "groups for (gender) people," don't expect anyone to accept your idea for a group of 100% men. Of course, if society came to their senses and we did away with segregated groups, then 100% men wouldn't make much sense either.
But, I digress.
People are interested in anything but equality right now. Anything but equality. If we were, then people would be treated as people, not female people or black people or gay people... just PEOPLE. We're honestly a hundred or more years from that right now, and its disgusting and sad that I won't see a change in my lifetime (I have 30 years left based on average life expectancy.) There's absolutely no way that within 30 years we're going to start doing away with all the nonsense labels we made up (race, sexuality... we made these things up) and just start being PEOPLE.
We've had a major backslide in the way we all get along, in the past 20 years. This is what happens when society doesn't have global connectivity, then suddenly does. No one has the maturity to deal with 8 billion different opinions yet, and very small subsets of people have huge, sweeping influence within our global society.
