    RDM Balance Whack idea

    Since RDM has rez utility the SE devs punish it with 10% less dmg than a BLM.
    I think RDM should do equal damage to BLM in a fight where it does not do any rezzing.
    My proposed whack idea is every time an RDM uses a rez the RDM receives a 25% damage down.

    This same logic can be applied to SMN also. The res DPS maintain their versatility but are not punished for it in high-end content.

    First you say you want rdm to get a 25% damage down,
    Then you say res dps shouldn’t be punished for it in higher end content. Had too many edibles my guy ?

    Healers are roles that change their business depending on the content and party members, so I think it can't be helped that they get bored when they have free time.

    This proposal would punish RDM and SMN in all other content and all those players who play through it without worrying about job balance.

    So the determining factor of your damage would be your teammates.
    No thanks.

    I don't trust the average player do do mechanics correctly, although it would be a huge damage buff for high end raiders

    That's... that's a terrible idea.
    No RDM with braincells would use Verraise if that happened. If you want to nerf verraise to give RDM a deserved damage buff, just double the mana cost or something.

    Ideally RDM would only be 2% at most behind BLM and melee. That's more than enough tax.

    But I can see the idea behind the suggestion. Let's say it was a temporary damage down that resulted in about a 3% dps loss over a raid fight. That would mean RDM is pretty much the same just with more damage and only receives the current utility tax IF they use their utility multiple times. So RDM would actually be in a much better spot than it is now. Everyone up in arms and calling it a terrible idea isn't really thinking it through.

    I still say no because it's a compromise and accepting the flawed idea of dps tax in a game entirely focused around dps, instead of a fix.
