Mikoto Jinba fulfills all the important criteria for being a member of the Scions loose association of unaffiliated "adventurers" who constantly bump into each other over and over again:

• (important!!) is a Sharlayan citizen
• Canonically has a higher education than ~98%+ of both Hydaelynian residents and real life playerbase, but is still forced by writers to spend her time standing in one spot and explaining primary school topics to WOL, or filling the role of an Indiana Jones sidekick
• (important!!) Corollary to previous point: Despite vast education in countless intriguing topics, becomes a generic Cure Healer when combat begins
• Began as a side character in optional content
• Can encyclopedically provide exposition on almost any topic, on-demand, without seeming out-of-character
• (important!!) Has had a pointless and overexaggerated "sacrifice" scene, then gotten better 5 minutes later
• (important!!) has very light-colored hair
• Possessed of cute/attractive appearance; will easily fit into marketing materials
• Corollary to previous point: Does not risk competing with WOLander for masculine self-insertion fantasy in 18-29 sales demographic
• (important!!) is not a Roegadyn

Bonus features:

• Canonically has an opposite-personality twin sibling that she does not get along with, allowing for both wHaCkY slice-of-life scenes, and hilarious moments in which Estinien Varlineau makes a social faux-pas by confusing one for the other
• Has unrequited attraction to Cid Garlond, allowing for even more charming slice-of-life scenes in which that one generic "touching moment" melody plays while she looks sad, and then the camera pans upward towards a random cloud, before fading to black and rewarding you with a choice of either 3x NQ food that no one wants or 3x gil tokens.

In conclusion, while there's still time to rewrite the script, I think that we should Ctrl+F replace Krile Mayer Baldesion with Mikoto Jinba before going to Meracydia.

Optional! Dress Mikoto in the 22 dollar Fat Cat Hoodie if any MSQ scenes absolutely rely on a character wearing cat pyjamas. (dw she's a Sharlayan research professor, she can afford it)

And checking in on this thread a day later, I feel like a lot of people haven't figured out it's a joke (with, perhaps, a bit of criticism to the Scions themselves)

I feel like her niche is a little...redundant when we've already got Y'shtola and Krile around as smarty aetherologists.

I also developed some disinterest in her after how horribly handled her suddenly introduced Echo abilities were in Bozja and don't want to see any more of that "absolute future" nonsense.

And yes, I know this (probably) a joke topic, but I felt like giving my honest opinion anyways, since I have been musing over which side characters who I would/wouldn't want to see more of in the future.

Unironically great funny thread, and also absolutely has a point on just plain Ctrl F'ing Krile from the story. Replace one Sharlayan scholar with the Echo with another, with a more interesting kind of Echo. I legitimately see no problem with this.

Also, she's the one who mentioned never having felt love when confessing to you in Zadnor, right? Rhetorical question because I perfectly know she is, but with the way the fanbase treats her and Cid..... Give me my aro rep.
