So even though I've been wanting this emote like the rest of the community from the minute we saw Pagaga, I won't be picking it up either. SE needs to cut this crap out and stick things back in the game where they belong.

That pagaga emote being in the mogstation annoys me more than the price of the hoodie yeah.

We know that the mogstation is overpriced and predatory in a game with a subscription. It's pretty much the norm at that point and it has been accepted, we just have to see how many players just say that it's fine in that very thread.

But the emote could have been a new mini update to reinject some players into the dead as f bozja content. Just add some new "pagacoins" vendor into bozja, and you can then farm those new freshly minted coins in any bozja related content. There, that forgotten content get some actions for a few days at least. It could help players get their relics or other bozja stuff as well.

They could even add it to both the mogstation and the game, if some players really prefer paying instead of actually playing to the game. You can either farm for it ingame or bypass the farm by paying. We already have the level boosters after all.

So yeah while the mogstation doesn't make the game effectively worse by existing, it sure prevents making it just a little better by holding hostage some stuff that could be used to resurrect some abandoned content.

    This.

If Square Enix could not get X price for Y item, then the price would drop.

As long as people are willing to pay the price, the item will keep listing for that price. "Supply" here is effectively infinite (outside of the initial cost outlay of producing the item), so prices are based purely on demand.

Maybe I'm just weird but the game alone provides far more than mogstation ever will and with that in mind I don't see the issue here.

Mogstation is far removed from the game and isn't shoved in your face by any means. So if this is deemed predatory is on the lowest scale. If the cost is to high for you for whatever reason do what I and many others do and simply don't buy it

It's not even quality at this point which is the real shame.

My cash shop wishlist (in no particular order):
    1. Let us buy items/hairstyles separate from sets.
    2. Make all the cosmetic items (glamour, mounts, minions, etc) be account-wide.
    3. Make cash shop items storeable in the armoire.
    4. Better prices for sets. We have glamour sets that are only 3 items and others that have 5 but they both cost $18.

Exactly, paying a sub would imply you get more benefits, and some games did or do that (Wildstar gave you points for subbing, same as SWTOR for the cash shop).

WoW's cash shop doesn't do much with this but that's because the best mounts are already in game, and there are only 2 toys and 3 transmog items and they're pretty much crap when you compare the many options in game, and the fact that there's the wardrobe which is what the dresser should be.

But in this game the sub gives you nothing other than access to the game, and that's it, and it's slowly but surely starting to feel more than a "Fee 2 Pay" than a "Pay 2 Play" kind of deal, where yes there's a lot of stuff in game...but if you want the ACTUAL GOOD STUFF then you must cash out a lot of money.

I would let this all slip if the items in shop were either cheap, or occasional updates, or were at least in game at one point (which was the initial point of the store, to sell older event items), but I think the other 22$ dress wasn't not even 3 months ago and we already got a new dress? They clearly know their priorities alright, but people are fine with it so nothing will change.

And if anyone will starts saying "bUt It'S oPtIoNaL"l" then I'll just say that everything in life is "optional" (yes even food: never heard of diets?), but at one point having too much, or too little, of everything is unhealthy and that the secret is to balance the two out.

I don't really complain with every item in the mogstation but stuff like the Pagaga emote where it has been teased from a npc that you fight 3 times in 3 different fates with field notes and all, made fanart since ShB's Bozja and only to be put in a freaking shop stings, you know?

Am i going to buy the emote? I don't know, it might be my first emote that i really want from the shop and it just rubs me in the wrong way.

...I'll... be the annoying rectal cavity that I am and bring up Hrothgar and stuff again...

People love dumping the verbal diarrhea that are "you knew what you were getting" or "you guys are the least played" to justify how Hrothgar and Viera pay for the same subscription as everyone else but are getting an inferior experience in comparison. While yes, technically speaking we all pay for the same service, and alts exist. Meaning that everyone here is paying for an inferior Viera/Hrothgar experience if they so choose. And while several excuses for the dev team are valid (odds are it might not even be their own decision anyway), some stuff isn't, and someone does need to take the blame. We're not the only things though, other areas in the game have failed to meet expectations. Housing comes to mind.

So when our own game already has some issues in quality assurance, items like these being sold to us for extra kind of looks like the next logical step. And they feel comfortable in doing so for large price ranges because they know some stooge out there will fall for the world's trashiest bait and open their wallets for about anything. I some streamers will definitely cough up the cash for this. I bet I can even name a few that will simply because of their usual cutesy aesthetic. And because of that, Square will only continue feeling motivated to pursue this. Next thing you'll see is them wondering "Oh, people bought something so low effort for a large sum, so it's okay for us to lower our standards to match".

And then you'll see the game itself have even worse quality stuff, if its cash shop items are this much of a throwaway.

To me, Pay to Play was never what this game had. You paid for the expansions, but also had to pay a fee. GW2 is also pay to play, but there's no fee to continue playing it. So we're paying a fee every month to keep playing, to keep our houses and also need to pay a fee to keep extra inventory. And our shop does this. Thanks I guess, at least you're optional and not FOMO, but I also kinda don't want you if you're this crappy!
Correction: You pay for the expansions in GW2 but it's otherwise free to play, even with the expansions having been purchased. Similar is ESO; you pay for the game and its expansions themselves, but you don't pay a fee for the game's continued run.

Thank god you added that "too much and too little" disclaimer, because that actually scared me for a second there xD

Since the gender restrictions has been fix on a lot of glams, they now add two sets of shorts. I guess they feel the extra set of halfslops is worth an extra $$dollars, rather than giving us a choice between the two for $18. Which they could have done instead.

Also I don't see that emote as a good thing or cute. I see it used more to insult other players be it in pvp, death of another in dungeons/raids or just to harass another in game just to be an annoyance. Who came up with this idea, needs to go sit in the corner and rethink.

It's a saying that an old friend from WoW told me many years ago and that's exactly what they meant: "Never put too much or too little into things", and in their case was trust.
But this little saying works on everything so I put the "food is optional" thing to prove the point: if you eat too much you get fat, but if you eat too little you starve.

Same thing here honestly: if the items weren't too pricy, but also not too cheap to be "trash", I think this issue wouldn't really be as big. But they went for the high road so who knows how high it will go.
