You act as if they are forcing you to purchase something. Give us a break with these threads.$22 for the latest set which is a freaking pajama hoodie...
It's never enough for Squeenix. Even during a sale store items are insanely overpriced. I couldn't buy anything this year because the prices are just too damned high for my meager budget. How do they justify these outrageously high prices? How do people justify paying them? $42 dollars for a mount? Who has that kind of money!?
Give us a break, Squeenix.

Tbh they should bring back Veteran Rewards and that'd add a bit more to the sub imoExactly, paying a sub would imply you get more benefits, and some games did or do that (Wildstar gave you points for subbing, same as SWTOR for the cash shop).
WoW's cash shop doesn't do much with this but that's because the best mounts are already in game, and there are only 2 toys and 3 transmog items and they're pretty much crap when you compare the many options in game, and the fact that there's the wardrobe which is what the dresser should be.
But in this game the sub gives you nothing other than access to the game, and that's it, and it's slowly but surely starting to feel more than a "Fee 2 Pay" than a "Pay 2 Play" kind of deal, where yes there's a lot of stuff in game...but if you want the ACTUAL GOOD STUFF then you must cash out a lot of money.
I would let this all slip if the items in shop were either cheap, or occasional updates, or were at least in game at one point (which was the initial point of the store, to sell older event items), but I think the other 22$ dress wasn't not even 3 months ago and we already got a new dress? They clearly know their priorities alright, but people are fine with it so nothing will change.
And if anyone will starts saying "bUt It'S oPtIoNaL"l" then I'll just say that everything in life is "optional" (yes even food: never heard of diets?), but at one point having too much, or too little, of everything is unhealthy and that the secret is to balance the two out.
What's "actually good" is far to subjective to make a solid point. To me the Abyssos gear is better than anything that's ever been in the mogstation. Heck I'd say the same for the Troia gear too but that's again, subjective tbf.
Irl food and fictional clothing in a fictional game do not compare no matter how it's spun. Choose not to buy an outfit it effects nothing important. Choose not to eat? You're dead.
Also fee to pay? Come on now...that not even hyperbolic. That's just off. Most things are gained through in game means and that will always be the case.

You could just....not buy anything on the store? I've only gotten one thing on the store and it was the chicken suite to meme during P3S with my static. I've never really felt the need to ever buy anything from the store.$22 for the latest set which is a freaking pajama hoodie...

I agree, I remember waiting to resub just to get those rewards, it felt like my time was worth. Nowadays I have no clue how they work.
You're right, good or bad are subjective in most cases, but that's not the point here: the point is that we're paying 22 dollars (or 17.50 euros) for an item that while you might like/dislike it, it's getting way too pricy for a p2p game...which also asks you to pay additional fees for retainers, has 2 races that are essentially limited , and also can't add simple things like instancing housing or a better dresser (adding more slots won't really make it better).
And if we want to get to the point of liking or dislike, let's take your example and assume they will sell an armor that's just like the Abyssos raid in the cash shop for "higher" than 22 bucks, but it looks cooler, better, and you can even change the color of the effects.
Yeah you can still get the abyssos gear for free...but the actual cooler and better abyssos gear is in the shop. And it kinda makes you wonder if you should or not for that price.
And before you say "they will never do that", well they already have special armors being sold in the cash shop (the heavensward ones), including their weapons. So it's not completely impossible for this to actually happen. Let's hope not, but I already jinxed it so whatever!
That's not the point of the comparison: the point is, and I quote myself
Aka, you need to find a balance or risk creating a problem... also you can die if you have no clothes when it's cold outside, because too little clothing can do that. But you can also get hurt by too much clothing.
Again, the comparison isn't the point, the meaning behind is.
Can you get any of those items - EXCEPT the ones from previous events - like sleipnir, the bike, this current outfit, the deride emote, and all of those fancy costumes from the mogshop ingame WITHOUT requiring to pay real money?
Sure most "things" are also gained through in game...but a good chunk of "most" things are also locked behind the shop with no way to obtain them otherwise.
Afterall if we could get them ingame through other means we wouldn't be here wasting time in this thread, now would we?

How much you pay for anything is entirely up to you. I get tired of people blaming a store for simply offering. People would be complaining about anything regardless of prices being high or low or even if the shop didn't exist.I agree, I remember waiting to resub just to get those rewards, it felt like my time was worth. Honestly I'd like to one day see the ratio of in game items to store one to see how big the chunk of store items is

Holidays is getting close. It good idea from SE to pre plan those items. Like it or not, it's a company.

Just in case you possibly didnt notice, I was being sarcastic. XD
If I have the money to waste, and I want it enough, Ill buy it.
Otherwise I can ignore it
