I've noticed no difference on either of my machines. I'm just wondering though, they said they are doing some tweaking with the rendering process (can't remember the exact words they used, I'm no developer either), is it possible there's some issues with some setups and software? Also, which CPU are you running, it's typically more of a limiting factor on XIV in regards to pacing and 1% lows. My desktop is an R5 5600X, RTX3060 on 32 gigs of ram, game is installed on a SATA SSD. I haven't noticed any difference on CPU and GPU utilization, temps, or anything, always hitting 70fps to 180fps in the various areas, 1440p Ultra (HBAO+ Standard, Quality looks worse imo and eats resources) both before and after the patch. My older GTX 1070 laptop sees no difference either, HOWEVER...I did get a CTD this morning on it while on Island Sanctuary, looking at the Event Logger looks like stupid Apple Bonjour service took a dump...but...it was a weird crash. No error code, game locked up with a constant tone from the last sound played, then went to coloured static flickering onscreen (early G-sync does this sometimes when going fullscreen to windowed) that lasted about 30 seconds, then ended up back on the WINDOWS login screen. After a reboot, uninstalling Bonjour, I played for a couple hours without incident. Long story short, check temps and utilization, look for anything weird or changes to the norm if you usually monitor these things.

I have a i7 8700k that's delided and OCed to 5ghz. My temps stay around 60c while playing FF14. No overheating issues here. 32gb of 3200mhz G.Skill Trident Z RAM. GTX 1080ti. Game is installed on a samsung 970 evo plus NVME drive.

I play at 1440p with all max settings and the game has always ran beautifully. Always at a locked 60fps.

However the issues started with this patch. Yesterday the game ran perfectly. Today i'm getting all these stutters. Keep this in mind too. I'm playing on the EU servers and everyone is asleep right now. There's hardly anyone on in the cities. Yet i'm still getting all these stutters.

My guess is that since they are tweaking the engine for 7.0 they screwed something up in the process. The game is not unplayable, but it is annoying for sure.

It's definitely an issue that is being noted, there's another thread in here about stutters. The one thing I have noticed is the behaviour of my GPU. Suddenly XIV is obeying my power settings in NCP. For the last 9 years it's always ignored everything and cranked clock speeds to max boost, regardless of load. Suddenly in 6.2 it started clocking down in response to utilization, like all my other games do when in "Optimal" or "Normal" power settings. So they are doing SOMETHING under the hood. I normally run vsync 60 fps as you do, 75 on my laptop with G-sync. I just uncapped my desktop and ported around the various main cities and it's pushing about 80 to 100 fps in all, when capped it's smooth as silk, same as ever. They didn't mention any changes besides PLD and WAR, Savage nerf, and a bunch of bug squashes in IS. One has to wonder what they change that they DON'T list in the notes, something ain't right for you guys that's for sure. Wish I could offer some actual help besides check resource usage etc, but I do hope you all get it sorted.
