This means FF11 is connected to FF14? or Shantoto is now like Cid.

Besides, she's become basically a symbol from FFXI, like any other FF symbols, expect to see her mimic/referenced from here on out, just like Cloud was in FFIX.

Shantotto is the FFXI mascot, and is becoming quite a popular character (in addition to being in Dissidia, she's also the tutorial person in Theatrythm). Hell, she even made it into Diablo 3. It's not surprising that she'd be referenced or show up in other FF games.

There's like a million of these threads. The name 'Shatotto' is definitely a wink to FFXI players but it is not a new thing with this update. It's all over the Black Mage quest line.
