I heard if we get a lot of signatures, Yoshi-P will come down of the heavens and bestow us with some goodies.

I feel like that particular site is used for some pretty trivial things (compared to some minor or major real-world problems) far too often, so while I agree with the request and would love some more glamour dresser space, I can't really say I approve of the methods here. That site is misused way too much for me to take it seriously.
Yoshida is already perfectly aware that people want more dresser space. A petition isn't going to change that.
And I agree with Vahlnir that I dislike seeing petition sites intended for real-world change getting used for trivial improvements to a videogame.
With no disrespect intended for anyone in the thread, Change.org is about as useful for "real world" stuff as straw poll in (most) situations. Governments and organizations ignore it most of the time because it's not legally binding. OP should continue as is, he's not harming anyone and it's not like he's taking up limited vital space that some other super important petition could use.
Although I doubt he's going to see anything come of this, numbers and names do tend to speak louder than a few threads here and there.
It's not about being legally binding. The site is simply a tool for conducting petitions instead of having sheets of paper that people physically sign.
I'm not sure about higher levels of government, but I do know that at least some local governments will accept petitions gathered electronically – as I understand it, they're not obliged to act on the request, but that's also the case for paper petitions.
Honestly think it should be reduced to 5 or 6. More than that is just selfish
