I do remember that at every query about adding a DPS meter into the game the answer is a firm "no".

Of course, it may be your misinterpretation of a comment in passing that also included references to third-party addons at some point in the discussion. A promise? I won't believe it until you show me the actual words in a reference I can look up. You'll have to be very specific with the search terms or provide an actual link.

I remember them saying that during a live a letter on some UI mods. In the most recent patch we actually got one i want to say

An add detector would invade the privacy of the player and cause the entire XIV experience to be soured for the majority due to a minority. No thanks.

Add-ons are against the TOS. Those that use it are risking their account. That has been enough of a deterrent for the entire life-cycle of the game so far. If those that get caught get banned, they knew what the risks were.

The entire game's population's privacy shouldn't be sacrificed due to a few people being unhappy. Thankfully, Yoshi agrees. Also thankfully, if they added this, it would shut the game down in some of the countries it's currently open in. So hopefully, this never happens - nor should it.

There is literally no advantage, you can replicate most if not all of the stuff done in said deco plugin with floating...which is available to everyone in game and there's even tutorials on YouTube that shows how to do it (console players can even do it!). All the plugin does is shorten the process.

Can't we go one thread about people cheating in savage without throwing everyone else under the bus at the same time? That is the actual issue more than someone wanting to put a Namazu statue on their roof.

First you stating that you've gone over this with me when I can't even remember we have ever replied to one another is quite funny. If you have replied to me before, then let me respond again. The context of this discussion and my thread is specifically about add-ons, not about just TOS. But Firemage, I have seen responses like yours all the time and where you obfuscate/deflect from the actual original talking point. I'll repeat it one more time so it's clear

This subject pops up so often that I'm never sure if they're troll, just DC difference or general hyper overacting.

a) If SE they would care, which shocker they don't (and assuming that they really don't want to install an anti cheat), they could threaten to sue all dalamud reps, github projects, FF14 logs, discords, bot sellers and ACT and oh boy after some patches 95% of it would be gone.

b) ACT works as a cheap DBM so stop lying and act like 99.9% of all players would use some WoW AVR addon just because you saw one video of a guy with cheats that is not even public.

c) Why do people still care about other players PvE, if they want to play like this with drawing shit and all the things so be it, it doesn't affect you, nobody cares if u cleared this raid or have that glowing weapon it's your own achievement.
If you're still indoctrinated from WoW that you have to be the first to show off that you're the absolute min max 0.1% king then maybe the game is just wrong for you?

d) You can even blame SE themselves for that best example if they hate logging so much why introduce such tight dps checks?
