In this sentence, they clearly admit that the design of the last fights are a disadvantage for ranged DPS, and yet, they completely ignore caster and ranged DPS and do things halfway.

Yeah, I just don't have expectations anymore for this job ever getting looked at properly or having an explicit reason to exist that is entirely unique to it after so many patches of very tiny bandaid fixes and odd adjustments that are essentially lateral. Maybe eventually I will be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not really expecting it. Still a bit in disbelief they said that about Paladin without immediately and obviously extrapolating that explanation to casters and all ranged phys as well, but hey. 6.25 or 6.3 copium or whatever.
I was discussing with a friend that the easiest solution for MCH would be Automaton Queen getting a debuff she applies to an enemy when she first hits them, that applies for 10s and increase the damage it takes from the MCH by X% (maybe like 10-20%) during that window. An alternative could be doing the same thing to Wildfire, making the bomb cause the enemy to take more damage while its "charging".
Its an easy solution that rewards good play and planning around raid/personal buffs, doesn't change the identity of "selfish DPS" in its category, and will likely close the DPS gap that MCH needs.
PLAY SOMETHING ELSE FAM.
I MEAN GAME, NOT JOB.

I am sure its not the answer that people want to hear but the reason they changed the tank situation more quickly was that it was more urgent as WARs and PLDs were in serious danger of getting replaced by DRKs and GNBs while ranged dps are not seriously under threat of getting replaced by melees.
Its definitely a feel bad situation for casters and physical ranged but there probably isnt a serious threat of a either of these two roles getting removed as people avoid tripple melee comps like the plague.

But Machinist is getting replaced en masse too - Phys ranged players are switching to DNC /BRD. FFlogs has fewer than 100 clears of p8s part 2 for MCH, nearly 500 clears for BRD and over 1600 for DNC.
Why is it an emergency if a PLD main is forced to swap to DRK, but not if the MCH player is forced to switch to DNC for exactly the same reason?

Reminds me of Deltascape when Machinist was outnumbered by bards by nearly 9 to 1.But Machinist is getting replaced en masse too - Phys ranged players are switching to DNC /BRD. FFlogs has fewer than 100 clears of p8s part 2 for MCH, nearly 500 clears for BRD and over 1600 for DNC.

I wonder how the Dancer ratio would have looked back then had it existed.
I'd think it be something like 1:2:9 for Mach/Bard/Dancer if we take into account that back then, logs were ranked by raw total DPS, and not have the split of R/A.
