Paladin getting a rework, another class is gonna be destroyed, thank you square enix. This expansion I main PLD, with AST and DRG for other roles, and they're all getting destroyed. Please look forward to running out of classes to play cause they've all been constantly ruined one after another. Unless you're into BLM I guess.
At this point I'm convinced they have no idea what they're doing anymore this expansion. Almost every change has been either baffling, nonsensical or simply something nobody even asked for, while jobs that desperately need changes have been flat out ignored.
The only thing they did this patch was take the easy way out by reducing the dps check while completely ignoring the actual problems with job balance...and I guess make paladin not completely useless.
Thanks for those 20 potency on Storm's Path and Storm's Eye by the way, Warrior definitely needed more damage on their wet noodle skills that never fall into your forced 2 minute burst meta.
Why? The only things it has going for it at this point are self-healing and Holmgang, both of which get slapped with the gimp stick by mechanics currently being employed in savages. That aside, damage is the name of the game. Not playing the jobs with the highest damage output is in effect actively choosing to hamper your team, whether you're able to clear like that or not. The lion's share of raiders are aware of this, and the decisions they make will be informed by this understanding. Keeping WAR and PLD behind DRK and GNB, especially by such a wide margin, is functionally the same as telling people not to play them.


Idk about that. WAR hasn't been winning ever since Berserk got nerfed to the ground back in SB. I also like how they say WAR is a burst tank when clearly DRK is not the burst job. The definition of burst has changed from ARR to EW. In ARR "burst" meant a single target attack that deals high damage i.e. Berserk + Inner Beast. In EW "burst" means how much damage can you fit in a small window of time. In the current definition of burst, DRK is a burst tank. You only need to do a single souleater combo and double weave edge, ShB to see the stark difference in damage, vs WAR doing SE combo and double weaving onslaught/upheaval.
TLDR; if you can double weave Fell Cleaves between your gcds you are a burst job.



Fell cleave needs to be bumped up to like 500p, upheaval guaranteed direct crit or 900p and inner chaos 700p. Why would a burst job get the lacking burst ignored in favour of the 3 of the 123 that stops being relevant after lv56?

GNB and DRK still needs to be rewarded when dealing with more buttons and mechanics.

I love how 5 classes learned today that they are just crap because square either doesn’t like them or has no idea what they are doing and it’s not even the stupidest thing they said today
