It was from the mogtalk radio (or whatever it's called), which is for jp. And he used example from jp community, so yeah it matter in context of your post since you put all the blame on NA.I know that message was broadcast to all. It doesn't matter if it was directed one way or another. All should take this advice if they actually want to be heard. Anyone who's happy just bickering back and forth and crying that nothing is done is the real clown. There could be some valuable feedback to be gleaned from the forums and other spots, but it's drowning in so much bullshit.
You want less bullshit in OF? Then you can start by stop posting.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant. I started this journey for the very first time back in 2014. It was a whole different feeling back then. I was there in the 2016 fanfest, happy to fly from my country to the US just to share this bond I felt with the dev team. However, I do see a shift IN-GAME when it comes to this quote, and I completely agree - it does seem like Yoshi is drifting away from the XIV community. There have been changes that looked way more similar to the 1.x mentality - specifically Viera / Hroth implementation (gender locked / no hats / unfinished). Another issue I've noticed is the lack of detail in armor (ears for miqote, anyone remember visors?). These are pretty minor in the long run, but I have noticed it seems like the keen eye to detail isn't like it was in 2.x.
Yoshi, however, has given me nearly 9yrs of great gameplay with my family. He has at least earned, from me personally, the benefit of the doubt. I think what you said is true in that possibly 16 is just stretching him thin. I wouldn't want anyone else to replace him, despite him seemingly checking out. I don't really have an answer to this concern other than I'm glass half-full right now, but I do notice a change.
I felt the care of the entire team towards this game on every word, every feature put in the game. When Yoshi P said Hrothgar and Vieras would not wear hats and accesories, I was shocked. That didn't seem to be consistent with the visions shared by him in the early stages.
I enjoy the game, the memories, and I'm grateful to Yoshi P for rescuing my favorite game IP. But I can't say he cares anymore. If he did, he wouldn't be milking us on the Mog Station. He was so hesitant to even making it in the first place, now we get exclusive pieces of gear and mounts there for $18, $25, $42 USD. Like the price of an entire expansion? And don't forget the new housing items?
Idk, I'm not defending the increasing toxicity in these forums, but I do feel a disconnect from the head, and when that happens, you need to be mentally prepared for what's to follow. It's been a good 10 years![]()

oops, i realised i have posted the wrong english dev tracker. i meant to post this, not the live letter digest lol.

I'm not even talking about how much information they give us or not. I just think that if devs were actually reading they'd care about things like getting troll threads shut down quickly or merging replica discussions, and perhaps making more official threads to discuss announcements instead of leaving it to be posted by users, sometimes with unflattering commentary.
It's a bad look for them that I don't think they'd want if they knew it was happening; therefore I assume they're not seeing it and just being told "all is well and there's a lot of discussion happening".

yes of course, i do not mind sharing my thoughts and listening to others. it is fair to not agree to everything!
japanese is easier than english. i hear english is hardest to learn, so if you know it, you can learn any other language with a little effort
i am sorry for misunderstanding your post! i still agree with you though lolI'm not even talking about how much information they give us or not. Only if you are a lala black mage.
I'd rather have the developers spending their time working on the game than posting in the forums and getting nothing useful done.
Would it be nice to have a bit more interaction with Community Team members in the forums? Sure. They don't really feel like part of the community when the most interaction we get with them is a monthly stream or off the cuff Tweet.
Then again, any attempts by them to engage in the forums would just result in a massive wall of off topic posts by those looking for attention on their personal pet peeves and whines that they're being ignored. As others have said, it's probably better for them to stay away.

I agree that more interaction from the Community Team would be nice. I definitely don't agree that it's better they stay away because forum users are likely to be abusive or whiny.
This forum could do with more interaction from the Community Team and more moderation. Moderation is a huge issue that has been touched on before.
Multiple posts on the same topic? - no action
Blatant click-bait and troll threads? - no action
And then randomly, action taken that seems heavy-handed or disproportionate. (personal opinion)
To me the moderation feels very hit and miss, but mostly miss. People are going to differ in what they feel is appropriate and acceptable, the moderators should be setting a clear standard so topics are well organised, duplicate threads get merged and people don't indulge in trolling or start exchanging personal insults etc.
When the community is left to largely to itself and there isn't a lot of communication from the Community Team, that's when you get problems. Considering how little input we get, I think we're doing pretty well; though there have been times when General Discussion has been almost all troll threads and pointless necros.
From what I've seen, the Community Team only post to say 'Hi' when they arrive and after that, we only get to see them when there is a big problem and feelings are already running high. So, of course they're going to get a fairly strong response.
People like to feel they've been heard. Even if they aren't going to get what they want, a response that acknowledges what they've said and gives reasons why their request can't be met will go a long way towards keeping goodwill and trust.

We get ignored because we dont listen. Years ago we was asked to put feedback on a topic in one thread. But we still don't, we create hundreds with a few likes in each one.
