I don't know what this is about lying. I've not seen anything in the interviews that turned out to be a lie. Usually he tells us things that he is working on and then we see it within the following 3 years of that interview. He teased data center travel vaguely (and we got it) and he teased the captain rank vaguely (and we got it). The arguments about glamour dresser space were most likely explaining that it was difficult to increase storage space and that it can't be done without adding some more storage to the data center. There have been a number of hardware maintenance since every interview that this has been discussed so that the dresser space could be increased. Sometimes he says things that he believes at the time and changes his mind based on the feedback, such as displaying the powerful mark message.

These interviews are also subject to translation errors or can be misinterpreted.

you need to take in consideration of the live letters and/or fanfest . Take for instance back in hw and job balancing. Yoshi P himself claimed that pld was strong. But once you dabble with it and see what the other tanks offered it was false. And yes that is true that he will change his mind but for those that "breath" his words will lap that up

Cross-class was a poor man's version of taking a sub job in other FF games which only works if you have a job system that interacts with each other which it doesn't here. It could but it just doesn't.

I think the more critical members of the playerbase might be more understanding if they were honest about why they change things. Especially in their patch notes.

This i cannot agree more with. If they explain the changes like they are doing now it will be a bit easier to understand

what people forget is that Yoshi P is not their friend..

Although it would have been nice if I could block magic then, I didn't have any practical problem doing savage as a PLD in HW.

It's exactly these sort of requests to "balance" it that led to what some people perceive as homogenization though, so they can't win whichever path they take.
