    Quick Chat Spam

I have to say that the use of quick chat in Crystalline Conflict has to be the worst idea ever. It's annoying because there is NO buttons for "Help!"; "Stop Spamming The Chat."; or even just a "Goodbye." But the spamming has to be the absolute worst. I just had a match where the WHM spent the ENTIRE match spamming the quick chat. 2 full minutes of a loss with CONSTANT pinging sound effects in my ear because they are allowed to spam it. Its not needed. If you allow them to be spammable- TAKE OFF THE SOUND EFFECTS or make it one chat per minute. I even have a photo oh how much spam this WHM did, to show just how annoying it was.

You can blame for your teammates for that. That looks like a regular shoutcalling since you see the monk, reaper, ninja attack at the top being singular, the red mage is a little longer at 6x and monk which is normally because they dive the backline and people don't peel for shhh in most elo's. Considering the person spam pinging is the WHM in the group, I'd have to assume they were a high priority target and would be spam pinging because people weren't listening because that's what I do. There's nothing else you can do besides spam ping to either do 1 or 2 things: 1. get their attention so they listen or 2. annoy the hell out of them like they are to you because they're ignoring calls without giving their own. I've had 5-6+ pings of Retreat and Regroup in chat before because it'll be like:
    Fall back and regroup!
*still running forward into a 1v5 situation*
    Fall back and regroup!
*still running forward into a 1v5 situation*
    Fall back and regroup!
*dies and makes the next fight a 4v5*
    Fall back and regroup!
    Hello!
    Fall back and regroup!
    Fall back and regroup!
*sees another person running by themselves*
    Hello!
    Everyone, group up!
    Fall back and regroup!
    Hello!
    DRG: 100% LB!

Like if people weren't brain dead and listened to the call they wouldn't be spammed besides people who have it macro'd which is few from what I've seen. Otherwise it'd be switching targets to indicate who the next highest priority and wouldn't be spam since it's not the same message.

I understand that, and the thing is, we WERE helping this teammate. We were constantly 5v5 and doing as he said, but my biggest complaint is the sound effects. If they are spamming messages, the sound effects can really induce migraines for people like me that are more susceptible to them. Turning off sound to go into PVP every time is also just not a viable option. I have poor eyesight and use sound a lot to play this game, but the chat for crystalline conflict has just too much sound when its spammed in a match.

The only real answer to that is to add a delay between each message. At the end of the day we need some kind of communication. Marking players and pinging the quick chat that you're attacking said target has proven in my experience to make a significant difference in focus targeting. Its obviously not a guaranteed thing, but matches tend to go much smoother when that feature is used, especially on bard when I tag the player I'm about to silence. I wait to see if my team responds and then I silence them and do my burst combo. Leads to a kill most of the time.

But I do agree the straight spamming of it can be pretty annoying, especially from salty teammates when we are losing.

As a workaround, you can disable System Sounds(I'm not online rn but I believe you just drag System or UI sound slider to 0)in the menu which should stop those noises if that helps. I've never heard them so I cannot attest to how annoying they are. However, doing this will also stop the queue from making noise once it pops. As an added bonus though it also gets rid of the error noise when you use abilities on CD.

Note: this is for system UI sounds specifically and I am not advising on disabling all sounds per your reasoning

I will second this, as someone who is also prone to migraines just seeing the amount of messages being spammed here looked painful. For those on you who are suggesting ways of disabling various sound options, that certainly applies in some cases, and I agree that sound used in calls is also useful in PVP but when used sparingly.

Consider that listening to a flood of sounds, or having the chat box filled with text (this applies more to RW or FL, where players can fill it and obscure calls with all kinds of lengthy text whether arguments, whatever) can ruin the experience for some people.
