Possible Theory Regarding The Last Tier of Pandaemonium

Spoiler Talk for the last circle of Abyssos.

Has anyone else noticed the eyeball in the back of the arena on P8? It's way back in the distance and moves/blinks.

I believe there's a very good possibility, considering YoshiP himself said to "think about what lurks in the depths of pandaemonium", that its possibly Sabik.

Sabik is one of the few things in this game we barely know about, other than that the heart of it is in Ultima.
Not to mention, "White Stone Black" (P8S P2 ost name) is apparently a nod to Sabik as well.

Honestly, I'm just hoping to someday finally understand what Sabik really is lol.

In the original Japanese, the Heart of Sabik is named 'Black Auracite Sabik'. We know what Sabik is, it's 'a rock'.

I should say I don't want to treat that as a TOTAL shutdown, but there's a lot of people who assume that the Heart of Sabik is a literal heart of a larger being, and it's not, it's a rock. That's not an exceptionally weird thing to name a rock, there's plenty of real-life stones and gems named 'the heart' or 'the eye', but I think a lot of English-speaking players got led down a wrong path by it, we missed the fact it's a stone rather than an actual organ.

That doesn't necessarily mean there can't be more importance to it--if a stone's got a name it's probably got a history--but we REALLY need to break out of the assumption of 'Sabik is a real thing that exists and we only fought part of it'.

The Heart of Sabik was clarified as being a piece of Black Auracite in the Sorrow of Werlyt from Shadowbringers.

The cutscene in question isn't voiced, so missing that is understandable; but it's there.

I think if we get more info about Sabik it would be from the Void storyline.
Considering how Lahabrea said that Sabik contains a portion of Zodiark's power; my theory is that is has to do with the flood of darkness, and maybe with the destruction of the Moon on the 13th (by Golbez? Since he supposedly killed the Watcher there), or something like that.
Maybe Lahabrea simply tried to preserve Zodiark's 13th shard with this rock.

Also, in real life, Sabik is a star in the 13th constellation of the zodiac, and I don't think they randomly selected this name.

It's also not the only Ophiuchus star name that got used for an Ascian-related title: another star in that constellation is Unukalhai.

However, they only used that naming scheme twice despite plenty of opportunity to keep using it (Cylva could've totally had one of those names), so I get the feeling that whatever plan was behind the name got tossed out along with all the rest of the original Ascian plan.

I wouldn't put any money on it being related to the Thirteenth/Void.

Ophiuchus is/was used to denote "the thirteen" as in the convocation.

Zodiark himself was related to Ophiuchus from Tactics/XII as the thirteenth scion of darkness.

So it was most likely named after Sabik to show some kind of relation to Zodiark/The Ascians in general.
