It'd be nice to get a new prize with nicer textures. The existing coat and crown are a lil crunchy, and longtime players could do with a new goal to get them in roulettes again.

Lifer 4 would do a better job (or one for doing roulettes directly). Or another mob extermination one. Haven't had one since heavensward, and I got that first kill lol.
Simply by being the last to leave a group you can usually get a lot of easy commendations, especially on reset day when people are throwing them out there randomly for the challenge log entry.
I tend to get a lot simply by being a healer in PvP, especially in Frontlines.

I don't think 10k is doable. People don't commend as much as they did before. Too much salt in game lately.
I barely got 5k commends and I've been playing since 2015. It'll take you a very, very, long time to get to 10k, if you ever do.
5k or a 7k goal would be nice, 220 left for 7k, but guess what it doesn't matter which item cause ppl will complain like the forum always does
Edit: tried to upload a screenshot but didn't work sadly

Not against the idea but I don’t care. All I have to say is that comms are given arbitrarily most of the time and depend heavily on which job you are playing and what kind of content you do rather than the quality of your game play.
They don’t reflect how well you do and many people just blindly give them to the healers for...healing them! I got 6 comms in an AR (CT) run yesterday on an astro I was levelling for doing pretty much nothing other than spamming group heals occasionally and babysitting that one dps. I rarely do ARs but they are an easy source of comms for healers.
If you are a tank, you get less comms than a healer but you still get them regularly and somewhat steadily.
If you play a dps, it is down to luck: you can have a pretty much perfect run, take only unavoidable damage, be the lone survivor and finish the boss by yourself, parse significantly higher than everybody else (we can’t talk about it and the game doesn’t provide feedback) on a job that should be near the bottom and get nothing at all. You can also get comms randomly for doing nothing special or even if you do stupid things.
Then, many don’t care at all about giving comms and if you queue with friends, there are none.

Or you get the opposite. Had half the party I was with go down at the end of a dungeon and managed to save it before we wiped with DPS playing tank. Finish the rest cleanly, get 0 comms. I'm rarely disappointed when I don't get any but in those situations...it's a little like wtf lol.Not against the idea but I don’t care. Maybe we need achievements for giving out comms as well, to give people an incentive. I mean, plenty of people still won't care anyway, but some will do it just for the achievements.
