Less, but not anywhere near less enough for me on a personal level. I'd have preferred a mostly new cast of characters with an occasional cameo from one of the Scions.

We'd still be stuck with the Scions while they introduced all the characters. There was no way we'd be getting that in the regions we're at...but I can picture them doing it for the New World should we go there, it'd make sense there since we wouldn't know anybody and essentially be a stranger in a...well, new world.

I do love the detail that the WoL just rejects or seems very skeptical about accepting drinks from Strangers. XD

And people think my positions are the unreasonable ones. The above statement speaks for itself, and more.

I think I'll take the randos and whatever else happens at the bar, be it fights, having the WoL be drugged again, or otherwise. I am not interested in nor can I sympathize with a character who just shows up and wins. That isn't a story, it's a power fantasy. Almost turning into a Sin Eater back in Shadowbringers was at least something in the way of stakes but nowadays it seems that all we need to do is wait for a crystal to drop into our hands and solve all our problems with it, usually delivered by the same immortal cast members who cannot suffer or be replaced. Instead we have to hear about the sole few traumas they endured 10 years ago by not the story, but by the community that uses them to justify their continued presence no matter how little value they contribute to the story.

This game has a continuous story that is added on to over time. The Scions have failed to have any significant development no matter how much time seems to pass. If all that can be done are 1-off events that define these characters then it is indeed better to have a rotating cast of fresh faces every 2 years so that the audience isn't pushed to the state we've reached now.

Characters arnt constantly suffering. Game is bad, replace whole cast with people who always suffer.
Its not so "unreasonable" its just not as compelling as you think it is. Or at least, it wouldnt be compelling to "everybody" And maybe not the WHOLE cast, but maybe one or 2.

People want an entertaining, fun and compelling adventure, not a Depression Simulation or just Sadness and Drab

I mean, that's part of the whole adventuring business? You meet random strangers who has the same interests, or have info about, idk, treasure or something like that. And lest we forget, the WoL start out adventuring alone, and now we can also call upon our fellow adventurer from the guild, if you're so averse to strangers.

Like c'mon on one here ask for the new strangers to suddenly bestie with WoL. There's no harm in introducing new characters and save their big role for 7.0. And by going with strangers instead of the scions again so immediately, it'll make our reunion with them sweeter if they show up in 7.0

I was being sarcastic. As that's the answer I get when I ask how would some write going about getting a whole new set of friends. I get met with "It's easy the WoL would just go to a bar and pick up a bunch of randos." and that no other thought would need to be had. Cause who cares about the last time we invited people we didn't know to something. I mean we totally didn't get backstabbed and framed for murder. Also totally don't mind or bring up the fact the last time the WoL went to a bar alone where people we were to ment to meet weren't already there or were already eating or drinking they got served a drugged drink.

I mean 1st drinks we got framed for Nanamo's death. We then were ment to meet up with Thancred and get served a drugged mug of ale. Just so we would hopefully not be able to interfere with their disrupting the peace talks. I'm sure I'm probably missing another drink or food instance that didn't end well for us or someone we met.

Just pretend it didnt happen.
Sit here and bring up character development and how it gets undone, then in the same breath tell the WoL to undo any development they could have had by just walking into a bar and allowing themselves; once again, to get drugged, just cause. Like they never learned their lesson from the past few times its happened. Compelling adventure. Get drugged, Again.
