Moderation of these forums is very inconsistent and it feels like at times, they can play favorites or allow personal bias to take over. Other times you seem to get major infractions over something as minor as cursing (despite the fact that the game itself is full of cursing and some of it is even voice acted, which is baffling!)
However, I've received a 10 day ban just for calling out someone (albeit aggressively, and with a single curse word) for committing libel against and also cherry-picking / altering / outright lying about a post another poster made to paint them as a racist when they weren't.
I would have just left that situation alone though if people weren't immediately jumping on the bandwagon to shame said other poster when a simple post history search proved the person I called out was lying about them.
Takes you to the side, hands you a warm glass of poison laced milk, as is our wont, and looking you in the eyes says,
Son, look, starting in 2015 you are old enough now for us to have that chat about the Chocobo's Meteor and the Hornet's Final Sting. So, if you look closely at the colouring of the ears you can tell that girls are different to boys, well, that and they have different lashes too, but then there are some boys who like being girls and they might fluff their lashes up, and there is nothing wrong with that, if that's what you want, but look at the ears. Anyway, enough of that, back to the Chocobos and Hornets. Those Hornet's have a nasty sting, it's as bad as a doom. So when they start castin', if you can't take 'em out fast, you gotta run like the wind and hike your tail right out of there.

I don't know about here but in the game it is very common and it works
Often gm's don't do anything at the first report except send a copy and paste message
but if there is more than one report they act even if the targeted person is not guilty
There are videos about this kind of actions, streamers asking all their guild and friends to report.
3 months ago a woman asked her boyfriend to report someone while his boyfriend was offline...
This is very common and I wouldn't be surprised if it worked the same way here.
I once got the boot one week after I posted on a thread that came from a troll to call him out for that.
Since then I don't really reply to the troll directly but only to the subject.
