"He promised, through a translator, that the game would be playable on a wide range of PC hardware, from lower end to high end, as well as the Playstation 3 console." ~ That line in particular which has come straight from Yoshida, and is a line that we've heard him say many times, should be evidence that with these screen shots, he is aiming for more gamers by showing them that the game has medium level settings.

If you read other parts of the article, it also sounds like the live demo was played at a higher graphic setting.

Just be patient, people! Seriously QQing because of 8 or so pictures seems TOO premature if you ask me. And there is actually more than enough evidence to support that these pictures are in fact set to standard settings, as almost every game play picture and even promotional videos of primal and dungeon battles are set to standard quality settings at low resolution.

Just food for thought, I guess.

I don't think your so-called "evidence" would hold up in a court of law. But sure, it's a possibility all the same.

There are other sources that have indicated basically the same thing. And it makes sense to me, completely. It's all over the forums, and seriously just look at any video of FFXIV 1.xx that you can find. It'll all lead to the same answer. You all that disagree, are either trolling or are ignorant of what is right in front of you. There is no way that those screen shots are at the highest graphics settings.

It isn't at its highest setting, any rocket scientist could figure that out... Just some people just have nothing better to do then to troll .

Higher poly and texture resolution adds WOW to the game, I know it does but at a cost of being stripped bare and lifeless and that's greatly how XIV feels.

Do you speak about 1.x or 2.0?
