Unpopular opinion on G'raha Tia (spoilers)

I don't mind so much that they woke him up, it's just that the soul transfer was successful. The Crystal Exarch had his plot arc fulfilled.

What I would have liked to have to seen happen is the soul transfer not work. Young G'raha not accepting the "new" soul/memories - or at least not fully enough for Crystal Exarch side to be the dominant.

I thought it's sort of the point (as demonstrated by his personality now) that the Exarch isn't dominant. His memories are there and they come up strongly sometimes, but G'raha is predominantly his younger self personality-wise.

I think it's easier to view it that the Exarch and G'raha are separate characters and the Exarch effectively died in 5.3, even though we still get flashes of him in his younger self.

I'm one of those who was happy they didn't kill him off completely, but I can also agree that his character arc could have ended atop the Crystal Tower and I still would have been content. He lived a long life, saved a world, and got to protect the WoL until the end. That's a good time to return to the aetherial sea, no?

Agreed on this. It would have been the perfect cap to all of Shadowbringers' themes, and he had absolutely earned his rest.

As late as midway through 5.3 I thought his plan to send his soul over to the Source was a bluff, and really he knew and accepted he was dying and had only ever intended to give us the crystal containing his memories but not his soul.

I think it would have played out so much more powerfully, and we could still have young G'raha join us afterwards and even still have the Exarch's memories to draw from, but it would save so much confusion over why he isn't acting the same.

I do not consider Crystal Exarch and G'raha Tia the same character. Are they the same person? Yes, but one of them is a respectfully handled character with a profound story and the other is walking moe-bait that exists only to be put into the thumbnails of crappy reaction videos. I miss Papalymo.

People like lyse and she was awful. She still gets parts in the story. People like moenbryda who was pointless and got wasted scenes about her in EW because players cried about it being unfair she died. She contributed nothing at all.

Everyone can like or dislike him if they want. I’ll always want more story with him.

Moenbryda wasn't useless though. I don't remember the exact details, but I remember she was instrumental on discovering how to trap and kill Ascians using Auracite.

Also, although I admit that she was barely in the story, I don't find the scenes focused on her and Urianger in EW to be pointless. Part of 6.0 was about reminiscing on the great journey we've been on since ARR and a nod to her and her relationship with Urianger makes sense in that context.

Finally, people like and remember her because she had more spunk/personality than the majority of the cast and was the first true side-character to die in the story. She was also a badass-looking femroe in my humble opinion.

Agreed, Despite not revisiting ARR in so many years now, I still recall the cutscene where Moenbryda and the scions are discussing the use of Auracite against the Ascians and her involvement surrounding that part of the story. (I really just liked the way that they presented the cutscene tbh) Even though her involvement was short, she did leave a lasting impression on me at least.

Once she grew up she studied under Louisoix Leveilleur. After striking a talent in aetheric research she became an Archon and was in the Circle of Knowing, however, Louisoix told her to stay in Sharlayan, an order she followed with great difficulty.

Moenbryda is called in once the Scions try to find a way to pursue Lady Iceheart after she escaped Snowcloak and seemingly cut off or destroyed her destination Aetheryte. Using a crystal of white auracite, Moenbryda traces of Iceheart's teleportation to allow the Warrior of Light pursue her.

Personally, I prefer Exarch who's the same one we had adventures in CT than the one we have now.

That's not really fair to Moenbryda as a whole though. I always looked at her and her death from the perspective of the impact she left on the other characters. We barely got to have her in the group before she was gone, and as a result, we personally didn't get to know her that well. But she was clearly someone the others' deeply cared for and looked up to. (It's even brought up how she impacted other characters outside the MSQ, like Mikoto or the little girl in the Old Sharlayan side quest)

To me, her character is best seen from her impact on the others, rather than for us as the main character. Seeing how others were affected by her death helped to define and flesh them out even more, and really got me crying like crazy with the conclusion in EW. Just something to keep in mind! (I fully agree with you on G'raha tho. ) Also, rip to her old Minion description lmao.
