No travel from Thavnair to Old Sharlyan?

I thought the MSQ brought us to Thavnair /Yedihmad by boat. But now I don't see a boat man to take me back to Old Sharlyan? So why not? Seems natural - A boat for a reasonable price.

All the way back to Limsa, and then to Old Sharlyan? Travel to the other side of the planet to get back to Old Sharlyan? Yes of course you can use a crystal... But seriously doesn't a boatman seem more reasonable?

The first trip to Thavnair is done by an experimental Aetheryte travel, that allows you to go to places where you didn't attune first.

This is why you, Thancred and Urianger are sick when you got there.

Well... Limsa is actually on the way to Old Shar if traveling from Thav, Old Shar is far far north of Limsa and Limsa is west/northwest of Thav. So not at all unreasonable to stop at Limsa.

Yes yes. I remember now. So the natural way to get back to Old Sharlyan would be to talk to the large nauseous teleport crystal in down town Yedihmad to get back to Old Sharlyan. I forgot to try that. Guess I'll try next time I'm there.

Nope. No way back to Old Sharlyan from the crystal in Yedihmad. I needs that option.

People are still doing it cus they dont really care for storylines and i find it funny they have no clue wtf is going on with all these cutscene skippings lol

You can just teleport back to Old Sharlayan normally. Or, failing that if you didn't attune there the first time (or if you happen to lack the gil fare), teleport back to Limsa Lominsa and take the boat to Old Sharlayan from the dock there, and then use the 'experimental' aetheryte in the nearby building that you entered the first time to take you back to Thavnair (yes it's convoluted but doable - you're not stuck in a 'Charlie on the MTA' scenario).

And it should go without saying once you finish EW's story an airship route opens up from Eorzea's citystates to Radz-at-Han in Thavnair so that is another route that becomes available to you later on (but, doesn't help you right now I'm afraid.).

Sharlayan's been my home point since 6.0. You can freely teleport from there to Yedlihmad via the same experimental Aetheryte. The lady there will even say "REALLY?! YOU WANNA GO AGAIN?!" each time, but you won't get sick so there's no worry.
