The drop rate isn't as low as a lot of you think it is. Our group has done it close to 300x and it's about a 28% drop rate. True, it's very boring after awhile but it's not too horrible. You've put in more time at Ifrit/Moogle.

thats 300 to many times for my liking. If they would have simply rewarded you with points for every victory and let you use said points to buy gear coins etc would have been fine. This is why no one does pick up groups for Raids hardly cause of the random drop rates. The dev team always seems to think everyone has 7 other friends 100% of the time to do content with.

How is this drop rate calculated? Is this 28% directed at the beastmen seal or the militia gear? Furthermore, are you saying that 28 total items have dropped after 100 attempts? Or that every player in the party got 28 items EACH after 100 attempts?
If the former is true, then you would need to multiply the chest x8 players which would give 28 items out of 800 chests (not counting top 20 suppliers) for a drop rate of 0.035%. If the latter is true, then you must be on to something or SE upped the drop rate cause i have not heard of anyone getting such a high militia gear drop rate in the other HD threads i've read.
As for putting more time into moogle/ifrit, i got an ifrit weapon every 10 kills and only 3 duplicates (i know others have had worse luck) so in all i did less than 100 ifrit kills to obtain 7/7. Moogle on the other hand i got my mogwand on first kill and haven't done more since then (just bored of it). Let's not even talk about garuda.
The problem though is, as you say, boring. Never in FFXI was i bored of camping an NM or fighting BNCM etc. Why do I and others feel completely uninterested in primal / hamlet defense/ CC/AV runs?

Roughly 93 seals dropped from the chest in 278 total runs. Total of 7 people (including myself) who have the promissory note, with others to finish shortly. All in all it is a poorly implemented system that could have been done better, but i've heard horror stories from Ifrit that have been much worse. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this last point but Relic weapons shouldn't be obtainable by everyone similarly to how Relics/Mythics worked in XI. It will take a very long time and a great deal of patience to sit through this. How is this drop rate calculated? Is this 28% directed at the beastmen seal or the militia gear? If people are confused on how to get the gold chest our good friend lux posted a video guide here on the forums to help encourage those who may want seals.

Just to second the drop rates being not that bad. We are 21 seals with 85 runs. So we are about the same drop rate. That is getting red chest every time. We've also gotten a good chunk of militia items so far in our 85 runs, 3 Gather Hats!
Drop rate on seals isn't bad. We've found they drop often over the 60K points mark but that may be coincidence and unrelated. An organized linkshell should be able to produce the seals to get one to two players an AF weapon per week (three days of Hamlet) with a little effort and planning.

lol which seals? gc seals drop rate from nm is bad at the best of times & the respawn time is b/s for many reasons, hard enough to get 8 people to do caravans let alone DH run, totorak is also hard to get people to go everyone says "yea i'd go" but when it comes to it there like "no not now" or i decided to join another party just to piss you all off because you asked.Drop rate on seals isn't bad. As for hamlet seals been there done a few never seen 1 seal, once again its hard enough to get 8 people togeather l/s or otherwise & same excuse "yea i'll do it anytime" ask anytime & you get "no not now or later or ever"
cynical i know but its true & happens daily to people
The seals from Hamlet. We do them with a member of the linkshell getting on the top twenty and since getting 60K (again, not necessarily related but for us the magic number) runs routinely have been seeing a lot of seal drops.lol which seals? gc seals drop rate from nm is bad at the best of times & the respawn time is b/s for many reasons, hard enough to get 8 people to do caravans let alone DH run, totorak is also hard to get people to go everyone says "yea i'd go" but when it comes to it there like "no not now" or i decided to join another party just to piss you all off because you asked.

If you're expecting to produce relic weapons with pick up groups that's probably half your problem.
I don't know if you came from WoW or not (or whatever other game) but in Final Fantasy you're just going to have to get used to the fact that some endeavors require an organized linkshell to tackle effectively. If you don't want to join an organized linkshell you essentially don't want to be involved in organized linkshell content.
(HNM's, for example, aren't going to be something you can shout in town for unless you're aim is comedy)

Those who can't get into organized groups are going to be left in the dust when 2.0 rolls out.
