    Exactly! I don't see why they don't release all furnishing assets, even if it's in staggered stages and even if you have to buy them from a housing merchant so they don't have to come up with crafting recipes. I'm an omni-gatherer/crafter and prefer to make my own stuff from scratch, but I'd be willing to spend the Gil to buy items that I'd need to complete a theme or look.

    Probably it's a database/communications issue related to the marketboard. Part of the reason they removed HQ gathered materials from the game was to reduce the number of different item IDs the MB needed in its database.

    Adding a list of specific assets already in the game that you want to use in housing to the Housing Request thread is probably the best way to go. It was a source of amusement to me to discover that the Antique Sink added last expansion was the same that's been part of the Culinarian's Guild at the Bismarck since at least ARR (or maybe even 1.0 for all I know). I suspect it was probably added as a result of player requests.
