Will botters ever be banned?

I had reported them to the special task force via https://support.eu.square-enix.com/, but it has been 3 months and the bots are still there. What worse is one of the bots is a player with level 80 Ultimate weapon and BiS gears.. which means the player is actually playing the game and using automated tool to perform the illegal activity blatantly.

Unfortunately probably not. SE does not see it as an issue big enough to commit resources to it. Unlike pvp-focused the reputation of this game is much less affected by bots/cheaters. Unlike free-to-play games this game is much less concerned if people automate away grinds because they've already paid the sub fee. They clumsly yeet the RMT shout bots but that's also the lowest hanging fruit possible.

The real funny thing about that situation is that there is a mod that automatically removes the RMT shouts before you even see them. I really wish the devs would look into that one and just implement it like they did with other mod that puts a checkmark on an item if you have already obtained the mount/minion/ect.

very low probability to be honest. they have a 4 person team called the STF (special task force) that does all of the FF 14 world... and they are based in Japan

maybe they are very popular in Japan, but seems they have yet to notice the rest of the world has regional players on non Japanese servers

It's bad enough that you have to go through the hoops of filling out an actual web form to report these people, but is the team really only made up of 4 staff? Seriously? What is even the point of going through that whole process?

I'm on the fence whether they actually exist or not.

6+ months of reporting the Eureka RMT Bots in Pyros on Materia DC (700m+ RMT gil income per day) And nothing has been done about them.

The game clearly needs an anti-cheat, but the modding community will never accept having one because it destroys the game for them.

Pretty sure there are also some laws in play here. I vaguely remember that being given as a reason for why the game can't actually get anti-cheat, cause some countries have protections for consumers in terms of their data or privacy.

It sucks but without the ability for SE to scan our computers (which right now is not possible), they can't even detect a lot of the programs that are used.

The FFXIV game client would have to have a built-in anti-cheat engine to even begin detecting.

I can't help but wonder how much resources they're devoting to trying to keep those expendable ARR gil farmers in check because they come back so quickly that it scarcely seems worth the effort.

The DoL/H bots, on the other hand, need to finish the entire Endwalker MSQ in order to farm anything currently relevant on top of leveling their jobs which coupled with them being considerably lower in number could be stopped if they actually banned them semi-often.
