So what about the places that was mentioned from you know who in endwalker? o:
Those are just areas on the Source he hinted would be interesting for the WoL to go on adventures in as his way of prodding the WoL into being like Azem - we've already visited one now since (the "ruins under the Bounty" was Alzadaal's Legacy, which, as we now know, had a hidden artificial Voidgate within it), so it's likely the other areas Emet mentioned also have interesting aspects to them.

And then he also hinted at the other Shards, saying "their civilizations might surprise you", although what he meant by that is unclear.

That is clearly Gaia's (attemped and failed) assimilation with Terra depicted in Memoria in FFIX, one of several references to other 'dying' worlds in previous FF games seen in Ultima Thule (the imprisioned Holy within the Planet's Core from FFVII and Coccoon crystallized by Ragnarok at the end of FFXIII can also be seen in Ultima Thule's background).

And it may just be me but the Nekropolis section reminds me very much of ruined Zanarkand from FFX in the design of the buildings, and the 'Absolute Horizon' at the threshold to the Dead Ends (the rocky platform which end up covered by the Elpis flowers) is a reference to Squall being lost in Time Compression in FFVIII's ending, right down to the flowers, to say nothing of the 'You're Not Alone!' scene of the WoL walking there (again, from FFIX but also a reoccuring theme from FFVII and VIII).

Really, Ultima Thule is one big shout out to past FF games within it in theme, ideas, and setting (and even it's very nature of 'remnants of dead worlds' is basically Wonderland from FF Unlimited, which was made up of pieces of worlds destroyed by Chaos, so take from that what you will).

I'm not really sold that it is related to the Tribal Quests. Apparently, it's not there after 6.0 Quests are finished (NG+), but rather starts appearing during 6.2. If we assume Tribal Quests require 6.0 completion as usual, they aren't related. My guess is that it's just the universe filling with life again after Meteion's nest broke, and we have subtle changes throughout 6.x.

Also, I believe Cirina has updated dialogue mentioning the black and red suns next to this sight, but not home atm to grab it.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

Im not familiar with the original, so maybe it's an error there, but that doesn't remotely look like two planets trying to merge. The glowing bit is tethered to the innards rather than the surface.

......Are you serious right now? It was so obviously a joke that it's somehow stopped being funny all of a sudden. None of them should have been "tribes" in the first place, their people not things, do you somehow think me lacking in wits to have understood that? I've never been happy with the beast tribes' state in-game. But fine, let's entertain this line of thought. Honestly? I actually DO think it was a mistake to change the language, because fantasy racism was always present in the game and was never failed to be looked at as "this is bad, and we should change it" hence the wake-up call of Lalas being "beast tribes" in Shadowbringers. By erasing history's mistakes we are doomed to repeat them, and I don't believe we ever truly did enough in the narrative to have the tribes magickally forgive hundreds of years of bloodshed, conflict, and petty grudges. Hate me for that stance if you will, I care not a whit.

i mean, the dragons and ishgard forgave each other and ended a thousand year war so why is changing beast tribe to tribal such a bad thing after everyone ingame began to work towards a better future?

Granted, I don't expect anything to come of it within our lifetime. Stars don't manifest and host novel and unique lifeforms within a fortnight.
We'll see that right after we see the Empty restored on the First, or Unukalhai and Cyella's efforts to restore the Void, or the aether returning life to the Burn.

Only because we forced them to. The Warrior of Light, banging stubborn loggerheads together for fun and profit since 1969~

In all seriousness, none of that would've happened had the Warrior never Arrived to Ishgard. You cannot discount our part in this. As for the tribes, well clearly you did not pay close attention to what I posted. Obviously this is just my opinion, but I didn't see us do nearly enough work or foster sufficient goodwill to make them all drop their preconceived notions of how we'd be. At best, we cured a tempered Kobold or three. I just believe that if they wanted us to come away NOT thinking that the tribes magickally woke up one morning for the Eorzean Small Council and said "Hey, these Eorzeans are actually pretty alright!" out of the Bismarck Blue then they failed to show it properly.

P.S. Why do I feel more like a mother than an adventurer half the time? Damn Eorzeans, can never solve their own sheiss....

i do realize we broker (and sometimes force...outright strongarm in ishgard and the dragons case) most of the change but once it got rolling everyone started to change to make it work. heck, limsa lominsa abandoned all forms of piracy and began returning land in order to make peace with the sahagine and kobolds.

edit: i feel more like a janitor than a dad. always cleaning up calamities and grudges. and paid like one in return.
