A word on content in 2.0.

Honestly, I'm not expecting too much as far as new content, and I'm really afraid a lot of people are getting too excited for it.

We're getting massive overhauls, changes and additions, for sure. I'm optimistic about all of it and I'm looking forward to when it becomes available.

But on that note, people seem to think every content addition is going to happen RIGHT at 2.0's release, which I don't think will be the case at all.

I expect some new storyline perhaps. Maybe some new quests and a bit about Dalamud's aftermath, but not much beyond that.

I just don't want people to rage over not getting enough new content on the day 2.0 goes live and that they somehow feel "betrayed" when much of it is to be released later.

Or you could stop trying to apologize for a corporation you're giving money to monthly

White Knighting and Trolling aside, there is a point in which a player's expectations exceed a reasonable level, and expecting all content to be released at once is unreasonable.

Players (Or, more accurately customers) need to maintain a high amount of expectations for the companies that serve them. It promotes healthy competition and a model that works for consumers, not corporations. There's nothing wrong with being 'entitled' when we pay their salary

The only thing I think they NEED to have at the start of 2.0 is more early-level content. There will be an influx of new players, and currently the game is a bit of a "grind to level 20-ish" and then start doing other stuff. There needs to be maybe some actual interesting quests that produce enough experience to progress your levels, rather than grinding the early parts of the game, as this will no doubt bore new players, they will just think "there's nothing to do". And no, I don't count levequests as part of these, because they are super boring lol and get old fast.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a lot of content to do right now.

Totorak. Leves. Easy Ifrit. Leves. Darkhold. Leves. Easy Garuda. Leves. Aurum Vale. Leves. Cutter's Cry. Leves. Hard Mode Ifrit. Moogle. Hard Mode Garuda. Leves. And in case I forgot, Leves.

What's sustaining the game content-wise is really the fact that drop rates are terrible and the loot system is terrible, not really because of the quantity of the content. 4 dungeons, 2 easy mode bosses, 3 hard mode fights and leves don't really sustain a lv1-50 climb, IMO.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

I'm sorry what.. your quoting like half of the dead content in this game and you didn't even mention Hamlet which has some of the best items and odds are even weapons that beat out the primal weps? :P

Hamlet is not really part of the level climb. Unless anyone can PUG the hamlet defense fights. Even then, we go back to the "terrible drop rates and loot system" bit.
