So, because your expectations are low, ours have to be too?Honestly, I'm not expecting too much as far as new content, and I'm really afraid a lot of people are getting too excited for it.
We're getting massive overhauls, changes and additions, for sure. I'm optimistic about all of it and I'm looking forward to when it becomes available.
But on that note, people seem to think every content addition is going to happen RIGHT at 2.0's release, which I don't think will be the case at all.
I expect some new storyline perhaps. Maybe some new quests and a bit about Dalamud's aftermath, but not much beyond that.
I just don't want people to rage over not getting enough new content on the day 2.0 goes live and that they somehow feel "betrayed" when much of it is to be released later.
I think most of us are smart enough to realize that not every known bit of content is going to happen immediately at 2.0's launch. SE would even be stupid to do that.
I agree the content is not currently comparable to FFVII or FFXIII. What we have right now is a leveling system for multiple classes. That is not story content. The only story we have so far is the introduction you get starting at the three cities. That isn't much of a story. We have seasonal events to perk up the content but there is a paucity of special event story lines and they do not tie together. The Garlean Invasion with all the associated chores (defense, caravan, crafting) is hardly much of a story. SE normally is very good at FF stories that suck you into the plot. I have tried to read between the lines and see the hints of a real plot but so far it has not materialized. I am still waiting.
