I have my own linkshell with a hundred members. Half are inactive, so not only do I have my own linkshell, I'm still part of other linkshells as well. Who am I to tell someone how to play a game they purchased. Don't make since to me. My job is to make the environment suitable for my members. I could end my linkshell and remake it and the ones I touched will look for me.

I'm starting to see this happen a bit on Hyperion. personally I think it's silly as hell, but some people are stupid serious about this rule >< it's really annoying. multiple LS' mean more chance of full parties, I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

Exactly how I see it. More ppl more chance of a full pt . I remember someone once saying it's the attitude they brought over from FFXI. I have np reminding them this is FFXIV not FFXI.

There have been a bit of Linkshells like this on Selbina/Ridill in the past, and from my knowledge, still are a few. I've been in two so far myself.

First one, was very strict with the 1 LS Rule, to the point that if they saw you with another Linkshell equiped, they would boot you, or send someone out to do it. Although I must say, we did get stuff done, and things were very organized, aside from the rule and the drama it caused and people who ultimately quit the game over the drama, it wasn't a bad shell. However; Nov of last year, both leaders quit and took the LS bank with them. ><

Second, was a must needed improvment from the first. They weren't as strict, just have your pearl equiped during Linkshell Events. But one day this Linkshell kicked a few good players for not having their "LS flag" equiped during CC/AV runs....The people kicked were NA, and were pretty much the rock of our NA player base, and they were also the people I did most of our Linkshell events with. After all of this, the Linkshell updated their rules, disbanded and reformed shell, and you had to accept new rules before you could get your pearl back.......and as you can guess, I haven't went to go pick up my new pearl yet.

I think this rule, whether they let you have multiple linkshells or you can only have one linkshell EVER, is stupid. It's only there, so that one day to cause drama, drama over something stupid. I personally know of multiple people who ultimately quit over the drama that this rule has made.

I feel I have made too many friends or acquaintences on my server, and I like having social shells, on top of having an endgame shell, and think it's dumb that anyone would want to be part of something that restricts you from being the best player you can be.

I am for this rule. I feel that the sense of dedication and loyalty I have for my LS and to the people in it is reflected by my choice to have one LS only.
I want the people in my LS to feel that I will stand by them first before anyone else. That is why I joined. We have a pretty good family in Counting Sheep and we stick by each other.
It is nice to have people you can depend on.

I can understand this, but you're asking a lot of any new recruits who may already have linkshells and friends.

There's other ways to solve the problems of dependability. Like having a 2 linkshell system for your guild. One is a proving ground for new players - all members are apart of it and it's considered more social than endgame, but you still do events. The other is the elite group, where people who've proved themselves get to be part of the permanent team.

Another way to solve this would be with guild/linkshell ranks, but until we see how player companies are run, who knows if that'll ever be a thing.

I agree, I definitely think that the implementation of player companies will change how Linkshells are organised. But until then I feel that Keeping our Linkshell as close-knit as possible is the best idea. You may be right I'm sure a lot of people think it may be a tough ask but the sign up process has all the rules clearly spelled out. We didn't always have this rule. It was created out of necessity. Who knows, it may change in the future but for the time being the security and piece of mind it brings outweighs the possibility of being taken advantage of.

Just join us @ http://distantworld.enjin.com/galler...532#pid=515376 we don't have restrictions, but really look for spirited team players who are here to have fun with others whether it be for exp parties, crafting/social gatherings, raids, primal fights, or being part of live streams and let's plays, we'd love to have ya. Just seek out Pico Man, Okazaki Masamune, Katella, Mini Ninja, Sambonz, or Myself (I don't have add privileges but will get in touch with the folk that do if you can't yourself)
