They have already killed off most MCH players with 6.1 and 6.18 balance change. Then they give you this fake 6.2 buff so you can get a tome weapon only to realize it is still the worst job this tier.

I feel like they lost grasp of the dps balance due to the change to Crit/DH system change.
Its like they dont even know how much buff each job will get if they implement the new system so many job buffs are underdelivered, while others are over-buffed.
For example, if you do some tests. The buff DNC get from the Crit/DH system change is that Devilment makes Starfall Dance does 25% more damage. This is already an overall 1.2% RDPS buff. Not to mention the RDPS increase from Close Position. This system resulted buff alone is more than all MCH buffs since 6.0 combined.

Even if this looks like a troll post its actually a problem. If you dont fail hard in rotation and have not much luck with crit you should be able to clear fight with no deaths and damage downs with any comp in only pentameld.
But its not. p8s p1 is tuned for week 1 SPLITS. Thats the peak of ff14 laziness.
We are very close to the end of week one, let's check the ranged stats on P8S:
10 MCH
314 DNC
90 BRD
75% of DNC
21% of BRD
2% of MCH
There isn't multi target or much downtime in the whole tier that could benefit DNC.
This is beyond ridiculous and the consequences of SQEX balancing. It's not acceptable.
MCH&BRD cannot possibly compete with DNC and its very strong utility.
MCH just cannot compete if there is adds or downtime and it's struggling when there's none.
In comparison:
26 RPR but I think it's more because many players underestimated the job, RPR is around DRG.
18 PLD, this job has the worst defensive, the worst Invulnerability, the worst rotation and so on.
61 WAR, despite the free buff and crit/dh participation, the job is at the lowest.
66 RDM, the job is competing against SMN, a much easier job to play. Both are very close but one is much easier and doesn't rely on gauge building. RDM has a strength in P2 but struggles in P1.
There is only 1 MCH clear that has a Warrior and isn't compensated with a BLM.
This group clear had to fish for lucky criticals and direct hit. 85% crit on Double down with an average of 33% crit, 70% DH on Kaeshi:setsugekka, 54% Drill crit, 45% of AA crit...
The Devs put the problem under the rug for too long and it looks like there's a whale under that rug.
If you're the type of player willing to sacrifice personal and raid dps for the sake of a minor overhealing regen as a melee dps, then this particular discussion around job balance will likely have no bearing on your gameplay experience whatsoever. Don't worry about it.
Coming from the person that said reaper was not the #1 rdps for 1st tier savage release?
Funny, talk about zero bearing regarding balance.
Still waiting, which DRG defensive?
I'd argue what I see is pure stupidness. I dont think the devs even remember DNC have Starfall Dance and MNK have Bootshine.Even if this looks like a troll post its actually a problem. If you dont fail hard in rotation and have not much luck with crit you should be able to clear fight with no deaths and damage downs with any comp in only pentameld.

Yeah, that sucks. You're losing 1k DPS from not having meta tanks. You're losing about 3k DPS from not playing meta DPS :< Switching jobs would fix the issue although I'm assuming some members of you static would loathe the idea.I am progging P8S with my static consisting of WAR PLD MCH RPR RDM SMN WHM and SGE. We have been wiping to P8S door boss for 3 days now, no dmg down no death, enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage enrage. According to statistics, this comp is almost impossible to clear the DPScheck. I would like to request more evidence that this fight is even properly playtested. How do you playtest your game to determine a proper DPScheck? What job do you use for playtesting? Are you aware that even a mediocre GNB does more damage than world best warrior? How can you release content that is not clearable for certain comps? What were you thinking?
The only way I can justify this is that the raid is only playtested using ONE SINGLE COMP that devs play. This is why I posted this thread. Please show evidence that your game is properly playtested.
BTW, some people told me to just switch a job. Thank god the savage is delayed for one week so we can waste 500 tomes on some DPS class and only to realize it is the current worst job in the game.
Clearly it's Lance Charge not being Blood for Blood. Every time you use it, you can remember that you're not taking extra damage instead. Or Dragoons having enough magic defense to survive raidwide damage now.
Serious answer, probably Life Surge. And if I understand the context of the original message, consider two Life Surges for free every minute and a half is probably better than Arcane Crest's healing anyway. What can it get to, 20% of max HP I think? The real answer is taxing DPS over something like Arcane Crest is silly.
