more OPEN WORLD EVENT pls

i hope ff14 dev can take sometimes to look at other mmo open world activities for inspiration. They can take for example GW2 meta event is awesome and u hope ff14 dev can implement something similar like that. And please add another set of job stone not another disc of war/magic or disc of hand/land no other job that WOL can do in his day to day life in Eorzea. A new job stone is like something like becoming a SAILOR, GLEANER, CARAVAN HANDLER, ANIMAL HERDER , A COLISEUM , A MERCHANT, ARCHIVIST , MUSICIAN , and many more pls add more to do other thank msq or story its good dont get me wrong but pls ADD MORE TO OPEN WORLD

becoming a Gleaner would just be as simple as doing beast tribe quests. They're small taskers.
But I'd certainly be all for more open world content. I think people gave up asking for an animal herder style job after BLU came out which is sad as I'd love to see that.

SAILOR I don't think they would do that without instancing. Ocean Fishing, which is sailing, proves that. You can ride mounts across the water in places like the Ruby Sea, but we don't have proper boat or ship mounts yet (I hope we get some). Fisher is probably the closest we have to this.

GLEANER Gathering and levequests?

CARAVAN HANDLER I don't think these exist in Eorzea but you could get mounts with a carriage such as the chocobo or hippo ones.

ANIMAL HERDER Island Sanctuary has this, although you own a chocobo, mounts and minions already. Although Island Sanctuary is instanced it doesn't transfer you to a duty server so you can still access menus the way you do in the open world and friends can visit it any time. If this wasn't instanced, there would need to be a massive ward of farms like the housing wards and I don't think that there is much point in it.

A COLISEUM It's not open world but there is one you participate in as a Blue Mage. There are battles with a real audience in Bozja, the Wolves' Den duel area or when pvp has spectators.

A MERCHANT You can sell things with a retainer or go around shouting in cities and do a manual trade with someone who is interested. This does happen occasionally, but it's more common to make it an advert in Party Finder.

ARCHIVIST I don't know how this would manifest in any game without being boring, but we have lore experts and people who RP being these so I think that will do.

MUSICIAN Not seen all the bands and shows put on by bards? This already exists.

Personally I'd like GW2's style of world bosses to make its way over here. Set spawn times daily at different locations around the world with bosses at different levels so that low level players can get in on it.

I love GW2's worldbosses.
Yet anytime a world boss appears in 14 I can't see any of the mechanics that are happening because there are so many people there.
So I don't see myself loving it xD

I came to this thread just to say this, and was so glad to see that someone else had already done so, hahahaha.

I certainly wouldn't oppose to FFXIV taking some ideas from the awesome way in which maps work in GW2. Those are a true and interactive adventure, and I'm always going to be in awe at how wonderful that experience was (I really need to return to that game sometime and keep exploring).

I could never really get into GW2, but this I'll agree with. Those events felt pretty epic in comparison to FATES.

I'm still partial to Kazzak in Stormwind. When it's so bad that they have to force reset the server to make him go away, it's pretty hilarious.
