Anyone else having an issue with their Adventure Plate and Instance Portraits?

So like many, I tested out the new Adventure Plate system and really enjoyed it. I was even happy to hear that I would be able to save my current portrait. But this new system feels a bit awkward now.

The portrait I have on my plate is the same, which I am pleased with. But a friend noticed that there is no way to use that portrait for instances now. Also, I've been trying to set up my own instance portrait, but I keep getting a message that the gear doesn't match, but it does. So what is going on? Is this new system bugged? And anyone else having issues?

On your character screen hit the "update gear set" button, than in the portrait thingy open the editor and resave it. Should be fine after that.

My primary issue is that the instant portraits constantly switch back to default. I have been applying it via macro command together with a glam plate to the gear set. And that glam plate has been looking the same since 6.1. So I would expect that the instant portrait doesn't delink, default or whatever just because I change a piece in the gear set. I'm not updating several portraits each week just because there's a new equipment piece in there when my outward appearance hasn't even changed.

And under the new system it doesn't even tell you that's there's an issue, you just enter a game mode that uses it and bamm default. Portrait looks okay in the portrait list, there's now warning sign or anything. Macro switching says that the portrait has been applied, still default picture.
