man this thread was great for a while and showed some promise, thanks for ruining it with all the back and forth graphics discussions. everyone knew graphics where gonna take a hit once they announced low end PCs can run it, you have had months to complain.

Starting to wonder if you just can't read, don't understand english or just chose to ignore/change what people say. "Optimized" means runs better, not looks better.
Everyone has said that the SS's are not from a final build.
I said 12 tree's but you chose to round it down to 5 saying that means there is still copy/paste as I was saying it means the opposite.
Maybe they will let people that don't want to switch over to 2.0 stay in the old build, then you can enjoy your graphics while we enjoy improved gameplay, areas and content.

But you realise that if it runs more efficiently, you don't expect a downgrade. You expect to be able to upgrade.

Anyways, if it's not a final build, good, but it's not like anyone can really say whether they will improve ground textures etc upon the final version, so that doesn't really make my observations any less valid. Since the fact is, lots of textures are lower res in those screenshots which is what I am fundamentally saying. So it could be indicative of what we can expect. No one can really say at this point. This is a forum to voice opinions, and sometimes those are concerns. Why can't someone be concerned that textures are reduced? Jeez... sorry for being alive. Omg. You people.

By the way, the issue of copy/paste in FFXIV usually refers to large portions of land being repasted, so in a screenshot, however many trees you count is sort of irrelevant, which is probably why I didn't really care about accurately quoting how many trees you took the time to count.

And yes, hopefully they let us customise graphics in such a way that we can at least get it to look the way we want it to, or thereabouts.

Well it's an assumption, obviously, that the high settings won't be much higher than the screenshots we have been given.

Because the forum shills obviously wouldn't have said to wait and see and that Yoshida is Jesus reincarnated? Besides, low end PCs by today standard were mid-range PCs when the game was released, so no I don't see any reason as to why graphics should take a hit. Especially since using high res textures have almost no effect on performance at all.

Any one else notice the lack of a weather icon? or the target type icon? (all/party/enemy/friendly)
Also while I like the "cell phone" style connection icon, we wont know our S/R numbers anymore
Lastly notice the first icon in both the DRG SS and the PLD SS are the same, wonder if that's a passive/active mode switch or something else
