I feel like mixing it up, lets be honest in this one.

I'd like to address the issue with the party system as we have it right now. Sitting in Ul'dah for 2 hours while waiting for one guy to gather 7 link minded people isn't exactly my idea of fun. Aside from PLing sucking the life out of available PT members and SE not emphasizing party play early on so people never learn how to do it properly. One of the largest problems I'm finding is the 8 man quota to fill.

Say what you will about low manning or 'heading out early'. It NEVER works! If you don't leave with 8 people no one wants to come. They perceive it as a broken PT and are very likely not to port with you or disband entirely. Gathering 6 people WITH level sync was a trick of itself in FFXI. Mandating the 8 man PT's is killing the leveling mood and makes for a very stressful time for the brave PT leader who devotes him/herself to shouting none stop.

Personally I'd like to see a return to traditional 6 man PT's. Shifting around spell strength and mob relations and it can work just as well as an 8 man. Except it isn't quite such a gigonic pain in the pepper hole to make.
