I think it's SE's way of responding to the crafters that complained Expert wasn't an efficient way to make gil in Shadowbringers. Now there's an item that many will want but can only be gained through Expert crafting - or bought from someone who's done it. It's a totally optional vanity item so players can skip if it they don't want to do the work or pay the gil.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, when I discovered that "island prisms" is crafted with DoH.

By the way, the island prism for appearance change on the island requires a lv90 crafter too. But the materials are cheap and market crashes fast, so it might be not a big deal.

I'm gearing up my crafters just to make this. I feel like this will be a gigantic pain.

There was bound to be a little crossover between IS and the outside world. It still doesn't require outside content to progress your island, only to apply a specific "glamour" to it.

Now that YouTube has a couple of videos showing the fountain, I can understand a bit more why this has people upset. It's a major upgrade in appearance over the other landmarks. At the same time, that explains the "expense of importing it" - you're not going to make something with that quality using the crude tools created on the island.

Agreed. Make it an IS grind if anything, but not actual crafting required. There needs to be more things in IS anyway.
