what? last i recall, square enix doesnt have stocks, precisely to avoid stockholders pressuring them. You don't understand cultures if you think this way...Japanese culture very different from American. Work ethic different...passion and loyalty to their company different...
And um...I don't think to this day that the dev team wanted to release the game that early. It's a publicly traded company...the stockholders say you been using up a lot of money on this product with nothing to show...you need to push product to market or cease project cause it costing too much money. If you don't show us profit we the board will cancel your project...(likely scenario)

"Cautious Optimism" is the mantra I keep trying to tell myself, to help soften the blow of another possible disappointment like XIV's initial release...
However...
These screenshots, and that concept art, are making it extremely difficult to do so.
It looks fantastic. Utterly fantastic.

Who's hyping?
People are excited and appreciative of the work Yoshi-P and the dev team have done to get the game where it is.
If the enthusiasm of others being shared or expressed bothers you, you could choose not to read the thread - like a rational person - instead of rudely barging in and ordering people around like you're doing in your post.

And you're still here trying to squash people's enthusiasm.
Do you have nothing more productive to do besides troll other people's threads?

Thank you team! Before, when I imagined 2.0 in my head, they match up exactly with these new images.
Now make the actual game just as great! I know you can do it!

You might want to re-read your original post. You are not "asking" anything. You're not even suggesting. You're ordering people, emphatically, to "stop". What you typed is what you typed.
Once again.. People are excited, are sharing their excitement and want to extend gratitude to Yoshi and the team for what they've clearly accomplished so far.
And here you are telling people to "stop". I mean, really?
You, sir, are in the wrong in this thread, however "righteous" you feel your message is. If you want to squash the enthusiasm, by all means, start your own thread and voice those concerns. Doing it in this particular thread - especially to the degree you're doing it - is rather out of place and more than a little rude.
You're basically saying "No, don't thank Yoshi and the team for the work they've clearly done to turn this game around so far. Stop it".
And no, that's not a "strawman fallacy" I'm giving you. That's a perfect representation of what you are doing in this thread, in the context of the thread itself.
People are getting offended because they're expressing excitement and gratitude over what new stuff we've been shown so far, and you're here telling them not to because you personally don't agree or approve of it.Stop getting super offended at someone who wants to be realistic over a company who is notoriously bad for hyping and disappointing the fan-base. Wasn't XIVs initial release enough of a lesson for most of you?
I'm not saying that you shouldn't be excited over these new screenshots.
If people want to hype themselves up and express it in the forums, that's their right to. It's not your right to tell them to "stop" doing so. It is your right to not read the thread if it offends you so.
Maybe if I repeat that a few more times, you'll get it through your head?

Yoshi-P and Development, thank you, thank you... thank you... I hope it really does come out looking as good as the screen shots with story and content. Truly looks amazing. Square Enix got 8 years of FFxi out of me, I hope your going to get at least another 8.
