I think the "Aquatic Town" is Gridania... Some styled housing etc.

Hi All,

Now that I've recovered from the initial excitement, looking at the screenshots & art, there's definitely so much potential for 2.0!

Some thoughts:

• The New 2.0 World Redesign / Maps look AMAZING!

• I love the "Aquatic Town" (which looks like a super-amped up version of Gridania)! It's distinctive, has a nice layout and features a better integration into the "Nature" facet.

• The Chocobo Ranch looks great! Hopefully it means we get a good Chocobo Raising System like Final Fantasy VII's (and that we can race them in Gold Saucer)!

• New Famous / Recognizable Final Fantasy Mobs like Fenrir, Tiamat, Typon & Cait Sith bodes well for potential challenging battles!

• Stunning New Battle VFX! The New Visual FX for Combat looks pretty sweet!

• New Real Time Shadows & Lighting Model: And the new Real Time Shadows & Lighting look wonderful. I love how naturally the shadows & things fall off the Chocobo and Characters!
  
  This is a return to the more "realistic Final Fantasy" look that XIV launched with. So that should assuage some of the worries some had about SE maybe going "too WoW" (when they saw the more extreme / hyperbolic designs like the Pugilist "Brick" Weapons, etc.).

Overall, this is a great update and morale boost for Final Fantasy XIV and its future, and I can't wait for 2.0!

Pretty excited, those are some nice screen shots; withholding ultimate judgement for interviews about content/gameplay vids.

Can I just say that.... I cried a little when I saw this...
Graphics-wise, they were not only able to optimize the engine so that it makes more sense for an MMO (more than 40 models, support low-end PCs) they also made the game look way better...
I have to say, Yoshi-P definitely kept his word, the promise of 2.0 looks bright indeed.

I knew 2.0 wouldn't disappoint with Yoshi-P (someone who actually cares about the series) in control.

Just goes to show all those losers who kept saying that 2.0 was going to be nothing more than a few upgrades.

This is probably the greatest show of a turn-around for a single game in gaming history.
