2.0 is promising too much!!

I have been reading the forums since 2.0 was announced and it seems 2.0 is a magic word the promises everything!!

Now this can't be true (but i hope it is)!!!

Is this realy going to bring all the content we want, races, classes etc??

now that there is this magic 2.0 word i feel its going to be a massive let down! in other words it will be exactly like launch.

Whats your thoughts?

Meh the only thing I'm expecting is the ability to alt+tab at full screen, if they can give me that I'll be a happy man.

I really believe it will, mainly because SE knows 2.0 is FFXIV's last chance if 2.0 fails its the last nail in the coffin for FFXIV and the game will have failed. SE are pulling out all the stops to get everything they have promised in 2.0 because they do not want the game to fail.

Will it bring all the content we want? No not strait away
Will it allow SE to actually add all the content into the game? Yes

2.0 is not going to be tons and tons of new content, but it will ALLOW them to actually kick into full-gear and pump out content properly which the game can handle.

Well they had/have 2 years to build this expansion like content, when expansion come out like once a year :P.

Personally, I'd expect what's on there to be in 2.0 launch unless it says "after" 2.0. If it isn't on that list, don't expect it right away.

It depends on alot of things, SE have a large team working on 2.0, and the 2.0 client is supposed to be alot more dev friendly than the 1.xx client.

Also that 3 years is what it made to build the vanila FFXIV with all its flaws. and SE have been working on it for about 1.5 years now and alot of content will just be ported over which takes no time (they can just push the existing 1.xx code through an algorithm and make the changes automatically to make it compatible.)

2.0 Needs to deliver massive changes, more then any mmo ever seen before or they can probably start planning on closing up shop and starting to just make a new game instead.

I honestly believe 2.0 will have everything they said it would. They have a massive team working on it and brought more ppl into it with several hirings.

FFXIV's life hinges on 2.0, without everything they said and it all being polished the game will never recover. Will probably never pull a profit. Will lose most its playerbase, and will have its devs team cut back to save development cost... so even slower fixes which will lead to more ppl quitting.

It is literally a life or death moment the day Version 2.0 launches. Very few people will give SE another chance if they blow 2.0.

I expect a Zilart like change to this game to put it in perspective. For those who did not play XI that was the expansion which defined the game. Added all of endgame, honestly brought the main storyline into play for several expansions, and such.

2.0 is really for new players more then for those of us that have been playing for the last 2 years.
yes there will be a good bit of changes. Content wise we won't see to much that will keep us busy.
for the people that have maxed out all classes I see them getting boared again in a few months.
New player will have a much better experiance.
