I could accept that as a bare minimum... but it doesn't seem like we're getting there anytime soon. Or are we? Frankly, it's impossible to tell at this point.
Just giving this topic a quick final bump just to see if any more people wanna chime in.
No reward is worth suffering through content you feel is bad. The worst thing the playerbase can do to itself is force-complete the content it hates. It leaves the false impression that despite complaints, players are generally satisfied with the content and it's okay to make more like it. If players stop working on the content even with rewards incomplete (like Pagos when it first came out), it will send a clear sign that changes need to be made.
I'll just say what I've always said.
In the video currently on youtube on ARR's launch, Yoshida specifically says "スプリント", meaning Sprint, when he's referring to the team's process when transitioning from 1.0 to ARR. This is Agile Development, and it's very normal to use in software design. A very basic, barebones gist of it is that tasks are divided into Sprints, which are iterative tasks that meet a goal. Basically, you start by doing things, normally by laying out the foundation, and then you go back and improve, on and on, until it's done and you move on. This is good, because that way you can catch errors and potential problems earlier rather than later into the project's life, and you can accomodate for them really early on.
The key takeaway is that they split their tasks, allocate resources to their tasks and plan things out in the long term way in advance. That way, if there are problems, then you're already well in advance before it impacts the overall project too much, and you can allocate resources to solve them. Such as "this is hard to do" or "these models are technical and require the gear to be retrofitted" or "fan feedback demands an addition to the race". You see where I'm going with this?
It's been three years. While the initial incarnation of Hrothgar was being done at the same time as Viera, Hrothgars have not had a single addition other than
a) a graphics fix before Shadowbringers Early Access
b) devs allegedly working behind Yoshida's back to provide basic headgear
c) 6.1's hairstyles and all their lack of glory
The answer we were given twice was that Hrothgar hairstyles were too hard to implement, and even needed to have their ears clipped out. 6.2 restored the ears, though there's a strange texture around them.
If they're following Agile Development, then they knew well in advance that
1 - These races would be challenging
2 - There'd be a lot of work to do before fully releasing them in a complete state
3 - That there was work to be done after releasing these races in such an incomplete state
4 - That fans would not take well the removal of ears just to accomodate hairstyles
5 - That they needed to allocate resources to these races rather than tackling content and features that got in their way. You know, the usual "if you're gonna do something, try to do it right?"
Sure, you can't please Greeks and Trojans at the same time, but you could at least please one side. But no, they chose to please none.
Now they've announced a graphics overhaul, which will also initially incide on the original five Eorzean races. While Female Hrothgar is still being made, while Viera and Hrothgar still have hair and headgear that doesn't fit. All while, supposedly, working under Agile Development.
You do the math.

Allegedly, Hroths can use the hood of that new fat cat glamour coming to the store sometime in the future, so at the very least we can say they're aware it's unfair Hrothgar and Viera have to pay the same yet get less than everyone else. Whether that means that every head item in the store will work from now on remains to be seen though.
I come to invite you to join, then, to the protest for the signature of the forum. Whoever wants/can, place a request for the hats for hrothgar/viera in the forum signature. In this way, we will leave our request stamped on each post we make.
You can copy mine if you want, or create one for yourselves.
When SE adds a new hairstyle to Hrothgar, they decide to nuke the ears.
Imagine which body parts will Hrothgar players lose when they finally have their visible head glam!
well, the last helm the vieras got cost us our ears, so yeah... maybe they'll lose their snouts, or their whole heads![]()
I was about to just say they already do, since the full covering helmets replace the entire head model and it's the only reason why they can even wear them, and then realized it's quite ironic that half of the head items they can wear are the ones that they literally shouldn't be able to lol
This SE situation is complicated, where we have to choose between receiving something of poor quality or not having anything at all.. I even made a post talking about how racial traits are being cut more and more from characters, but it didn't get that much engagement. Maybe if we could make enough noise, they'd start putting muzzles on Hrothgar helmets.I was about to just say they already do, since the full covering helmets replace the entire head model and it's the only reason why they can even wear them, and then realized it's quite ironic that half of the head items they can wear are the ones that they literally shouldn't be able to lol
At least, the hrothgar hair complaint was reflected in some helms you hrothgars received, and that caused the SE to put little ears on them. The same can't be said for the vieras, as they just ripped our ears off and now I look like a hyur when I wear one of these >.<

I think the problem with the one you're using is that it feels needlessly combative. Making it a little more polite would probably help drive the point through for the community reps (assuming they still read these forums)I come to invite you to join, then, to the protest for the signature of the forum.
