    Proposal: Raid Warning System

(((I Want to be more specific--- This is a TEXT raid warning system proposal)))

    Hi forum and SE people,

I would like to propose a raid warning system. It can be difficult to provide notifications to people in game. Now, I assume public response is "Y U NO USE VOICE CHAT". Well, unfortunately when you have ls members with hearing disabilities and other issues that prevent the use of voice chat it becomes an issue.

That being said, please add a raid/group warning system!

    Thumbs up!

    Thanks!

Even just having a separate chat color for the party leader would be helpful. But raid warnings would a nice bonus.

(For those who don't know what raid warnings are, they're a way for the party leader to type in a chat message that will appear in the center of each group member's screen and play a sound. It's good for getting peoples' attention when you're about to start or have something important to say.)

Yup a big pop-up on the middle screen would be a great add to the game !

I'd prefer they add this in over the return of <call>s, personally.

why not add both? <calls> were awesome for late night groups when somebody fell asleep at the controller.

If someone in my group was falling asleep I'd figure out if we needed other LS/non-LS reps or if it was time to end the event. Not meant to be confrontational, but our ending times as an LS can vary, and sleepy players definitely aren't the best. In a PUG, that'd just be tragic, and I'm pretty sure I'd box someone's ears if they included <call>s in macros. I suppose they can serve a purpose, but given the choice I would definitely not shed a tear if they didn't make it back.

The Raid Warning Text serves a different purpose- it was meant to be used mid-fight for warnings with directions/descriptors, and as such can typically only be used (or should only be used) by a raid leader.

They did implement some sort of "raid warning system" but the concept itself is very cumberstone that no one bother to use it. Those icons you're able to place over yourself and mobs should help in that respect but with how long it takes to execute those commands it just doesn't beat either typing it or saying it on a voice chat. It would be nice if they are able to implement better methods of communication in combat that doesn't require voice chat since some players just don't enjoy playing that way.

Perhaps an icon with a number or clock attached to it showing the time until a raid is started or finished?

It could be used for any linkshell event.
