Oh wow, I would never have thought to just "carry" and WIN!
What an insight, I should have just thought of winning all of these, somehow, huh:

Is it because i mostly play sch by now? Is it my fault that we lost these?
Because sometimes, everybody but one person tried, and even then my entire team couldn't keep up with the enemies all doing their job and our team missing a person basically.
I did purge a lot of screenshots but theres still a lot of baffling ones sometimes.
It was always bad, it still continues to be so, even in platinum and up, but, I will say this again
Having 3 ranks in the same pool is not a good thing.
Deranking is, but having unranked-gold in the same pool just feels bad because if you are unlucky, which i was for a bit, you get many people in your team that can not hit buttons.
It IS harder because you claw your way to gold and for what? You see no progress until you are gold1 or get the lucky platinum lobby and winstreak your way to platinum in hopes your team is the one that can press buttons.
Yes, I also have screens where the enemies had the people that had 0 healing, did not press buttons, etc.
It just feels bad to be gold and get people that are trying pvp for the first time and not in casual mode, but ranked.
I'm aware that I also was not able to do a lot of damage sometimes, simply for the fact that I tried to survive. Or have a lot of deaths myself because enemies targeted me first because the rest of my team didn't fight back etc. Aka enemies were smart and took me out because I was fighting back while my team barely did.
But uhm... you can not carry people, sometimes 1 is enough to throw everybody under the bus, but if you have 2 or 3 it's basically a lost cause and NOBODY can tell me to "just carry" or "play better" or "play a class that can solokill 5 people over and over, its easy"
You DO need skill to win.
But you also need a LOT of luck to get people that also know how to play.
And the wider pool just means that it IS indeed harder... but yeah, should just carry better, duh
(and Impbots are still a thing, had it happen to me in frontlines a few times and it's hilarious)
Edit:
As for call outs: People rarely listen to "fall back and regroup" or "Me(my class) pushing crystal now" and they all either rush in or cuddle with me on the crystal even if not needed.
They do nothing with lb callouts when I was smn either.
What people DO listen to is: Person dies- PUSH CRYSTAL!!!!!!!! That's what everybody listens to
Good callouts largely get ignored.

Some Jobs are definately more harder than others, I avoided playing SCH even though it's my second most played in low ranks because it's effectiveness directly relates to your team. SMN was fine for blowing through the Bronze but it lacks in ability to finish people off compared to some other Jobs despite being AoE monster.
I mostly played NIN to get out of the Bronze - Gold bracket because the addition of Gold to that bracket majorly messed up the team balance and once you hit Gold you are almost guarateed a team of Bronze, maybe some Silvers so unless you have some good late joiners in your team you have to carry hard. I don't even main NIN, just played it occasionally in frontlines, but since it's incredibly slippery with both good survival and burst and potentially huge swingy LB it was great for carrying clueless teams and even better at stomping the clueless enemies who sometimes can't find their Recuperate button in that bracket.
Don't take me wrong, there will be unwinnable games even if you basically get a team kill at some point, because a lot of newer players auto pilot into 1-3v5 fights and keep feeding until you lose. A lot of others seem to refuse to belive that a single player can make that big difference in a match, because the lower the overall skill level of the match is the more powerful plays a good player can make IF their Job has the tools to do it. It is much easier to carry a game against literal bots with something like NIN, DRG, GNB etc. than as SCH or BRD for example.
They really need to tighten up the brackets again, as now it is the Bronze - Gold is like a Casual match with few people trying to win and Plat up feels like mix of old Crystal, there are few people who definately got carried there as they play like old Crystal 0 ratings in mix with some really good players who haven't finished their climb yet.
I have come to the conclusion that the average FFXIV PvP player is far too stupid to be carried. Lost an easy game because my useless teammates don't know how to regroup or save LBs, all they know how to do is solo rush the point in OT whilst everyone else is respawning. The new MMR is pants-on-head stupid, but the average player is far too mentally deficient and we have zero useful tools to wrangle these idiots.
No matter what tool they change to “fix” the problem. Without any form of true communication, it will never work. Auto chats is just a horrible implementation, but you know. Hurting ppl’s feelings, to post an actual sentence got us to where we are so now what can the dev team do to address the spamming hot bar chats? More auto chats lol. Digressed, maybe if the content dies from S3 onward, they may do an overhaul.
I wish I could straight up agree, but my last minute experience prevents me from doing so.
I remember making it to gold 1 towards the end of last season just to deal with a smurf. That night I had to learn how truly scary RDMs can be as they went from silver to diamond within hours. Meanwhile, I got push all the way back to low gold, and i had to take an extra day to climb, luckily from 1 straight big streak all the way through...luckily. I don't know how I managed to pull that off after lowering my dps numbers just to make sure I survive.
I'm currently silver. I don't see myself entering Crystal rank. I just want to hit Diamond this season or at least high platinum. Should I be in the high ranks for whatever reason would you consider me to be part of the lucky/cheating group?
This may be controversial, but I think both sides of the argument have a point. One does need to do a certain amount of "git gud!" before one can ever expect to start climbing, and it requires one to be honest with oneself about one's on abilities (98% of players think they belong in the top 2% of skill level, which is mathematically impossible). So, much real and honest assessments of your own performance, regardless of how you feel about your team, and making constant adjustments and improvements is a must.
However...at the same time...one CAN NOT deny there is a reality that very frequently one is on a team that is you plus four animated corpses. Consistent winning and climbing under such circumstances requires you to be at such a level of skill beyond the rest of your team that you literally do not need your team, at all, to win. You can single-handedly, with absolutely no assistance from your team, wipe out the other team AND push the crystal for a win. Such performance requires either a godly level of skill, something only <0.1% of players could possibly accomplish, or extreme cheating. It is possible to carry your team if only one person is underperforming. But once you have two or more underperforming, you're pretty much going to lose. A NIN, SMN, MNK, DRG, SAM, or WAR with a zero-kill game doesn't really have much excuse, in my opinion, considering how highly powered those jobs are, particularly NIN and MNK; admittedly, I'm saying this as a BRD main, which is a wholly underpowered job (and let me tell you, I have to play my heart out to eek out any chance at a win).
I've been as high as Diamond, twice, never to Crystal (my highest is Diamond 1 three star). This season, I just crossed into Gold, and like many, I'm seeing myself become stuck. I feel myself an okay player, but I'm willing to admit that Gold may just be the limit of my skill this season, with the changes. I've been trying more to focus on what I can do to improve rather than focusing too much on how much my team is sucking (and let me tell you, I've had more than my share of being teamed up with those 4 animated corpses). I've felt pretty good that, as a BRD, I've been able to top kills, top damage, and have zero deaths (only to still lose because my team did nothing but die the entire match, causing me to run for the hills to regroup with them when they revive). I'm willing to admit that I have a lot of improvement to my playing if I want to steadily climb, but I also can't deny that too often I am teamed up with people that just do not have any ability at pvp.
There is definitely a power-balance issue between the jobs that needs to be addressed, and the amount of crowd-control needs to dialed way back (remove stun; constantly taking away the player's ability to actually PLAY the game is just bad design).
