I actually like cc... if not for the people that do NOT want to try in this game coming into ranked for no reason as if casual doesn't exist. You do not need to be that good to actually contribute to the team if you hit recup and guard and hit buttons.
But many people do neither. As I watch their Hp go down and down and down and down, without even getting stunned or anything, but their MP never changes and then they die.
Of course, you need to be good to win and or smart about it, but what do you do in ranked if you either don't know the mode nor want to try.
Anyways, the matchmaking is just to blame, since it can put your team with only single target burserts (mch, nin, gnb most of the time etc... ) vs. multi target bursts (smn, drg, a bit of blm, whm, we all know which classes can do aoe damage with lbs especially and who doesn't) and thats just not fun and very tiresome to deal with. Doable yes, just annoying since your team has to do way more to do damage when the others just do one lb to hurt everybody in the area.
Deranking is NOT the issue here, it is the fact that it is literally 2 ranks difference. Bronze players, if not from previous seasons, are just worse than gold players. And those who are actually good just get stuck with people that are not even trying (because they absolutely don't sometimes). It happened before, I understand that, i felt it as much then, too. But it just got worse as the pool of who you can get as GOLD increased.
If people that don't know pvp and want to learn would stick to casual and then join ranked if they want to, it would probably look a little bit better.
And Platinum is dead so i basically have to go casual if I wanted to play at all lmao
Problem is that the bads (that usually spam the most, too) immediately leave after the fight is done before even seeing the scores of how bad they actually did.
Those people will never understand that they are LITERALLY the problem here with pulling low numbers in EVERYTHING , except deaths.
So while you learn to be more careful by seeing you died a lot with low damage taken, can heal more, retreat more because running and potting is more efficient than staying with no hp and NO MP in fights to die - they do not because everybody else is the problem.
And yes I am blaming others for the cases where it is their fault because I look at how i do and see my team just do like, no damage at all sometimes, that can't be my fault.
