I don't think it's a conspiracy at all. I referenced the probabilities several times because that's what the current system is designed to do. The late season effects may materialize as you say, but they also may not as people rush to complete as the season winds down.

Before anyone gets cranky, I got crystal in previous seasons. It was arduous at times, but it wasn't uncommon to have solid upward progress.

For my part, I'm going to have to vote an emphatic "no" on splitting the ranks in two tier sets. I got to gold in two nights, and I've been deadlocked at gold 4 since. Even when I got a few wins going yesterday, I spawned into a nice 1v5 match just as a subtle f u to any chance of a streak bonus, because the game considers that an entirely fair match where I just didn't play well enough instead of declaring unreasonable matches null.

The main issue I see is that you can be a fantastic player (which I'm not, but I am better than average and have the screencaps to demonstrate it), and by default when you hit gold you're statistically more likely to be paired with players who are on the left side of the bell curve. While I don't think the previous system was perfect by any means, a wider spread of skill levels meant that regardless of where you are personally, you're more likely to make progress if you keep at it even IF you are being somewhat carried. The new system basically means that skilled players bottleneck at gold and are by design playing with people who are not climbing out of bronze, and as a result personal contribution means less. Not less than it means in frontline, but the implied point of a ranked system is some level of meritocracy. For me personally, my interest in CC will wane pretty significantly if devs continue in the direction of your skill and experience making it less likely for you succeed.

So you're hard stuck because no matter how much you try and how much you improve the matchmaker is still giving you bad teams and you can't rank up because you can't conjure a win streak.

Yeah, we got tomorrow, but so far…..not a lot of positive feedback. The 2nd week though will be the somewhat final say. That’s where ppl might reach above or reach platinum. Going to see what happens with the demotion system.

Not concerned with the filtering, it’s more on the tolerance of ppl losing and constantly being demoted due to random players.

if this continues you will get more and more people that just stop caring about wining and go full casual, they are tired of trying and losing because of others mistakes.

Something's defo janky with the new system. I got to Platinum by the time I got the armor in Season 1.

I got to the mount this season and still stuck in Bronze. Many factors like changes in meta, rng with player matches, etc. I stopped bothering with it. The wolf collars at the end aren't worth it.

I just broke Gold and got into Plat 4 after being wall'd for a few days. I was hard stuck Gold 4 with BRD, then went WHM and streaked to Gold 1- 3stars, then lost streaked down to Gold 3, switched between WHM, BRD, DRG, BLM and still went down to Gold 4 again before streaming today and getting to Gold 3 with BLM and then streaking to Plat 4 with BRD. And the entirety of the streak for Plat 4, I was seeing people in the same situation I was in while I wall'd. The winning game to get into Plat had this as a scorecard:

Our SAM and MCH were underperforming on damage, but not as much as the other team where their healer was basically doubling the entire team on damage out. I felt bad for the WHM because I've literally been in that situation before.

P.S. 70 wins to break the Gold wall on RNG T_T I was in Crystal tier on Primal last season by the time I had this amount of wins.

i cant event get out of bronze and im practically always carrying my team, the more i play this mode the less sorry i am that they removed exclusive rewards from top 100 players, infact i get more and more glad with each match.

I'm over 200 matches on gold and still in 4. I'm quitting after series rewards are done because it's just not worth it. I plat'ed every souls game with less work and less frustration.
