You can't climb with 4 anchors tied to your feet every match. Personal skill means nothing with so much deadweight forced on people.

There's some skill involved. It's not completely gone. However, it's hardly noticeable. It's close to nonexistent. Based off of how the each kit are made you can easily come to the conclusion that solo carrying doesn't exist. Classes aren't made to solo without the use of the limit break. *stares at MCH from a distance*

I do partially see where the "dead weights" idea is coming from. I mean, what can a 4-0 player do in a 1v5 if 80% of the team just cannot survive for whatever reason?

The real secret to this run was actually to get it done today, it was definately way harder on people who went at it from day 1 when the top 100 people were still mixed in with fresh faces, so respect to you guys if you did it.

Now it's mostly few late joiners mixed in with newer people so it's vastly easier to tip the balance for your team. Especially if you do cheesy stuff like sniping the worst players if you keep getting the same ones in your game by playing their Jobs.
There were basically 2 competent players fairly constantly in my games so I would just follow them around and get kills with them or if they were in enemy team I'd focus most of the match to shut them down.

I think the biggest wall for people aside from the randomness of MM will be the rank up game, you will be put in Plat/Dia game for it and most of the people in those matches were names I recognized from mid to high Crystal from last season, so you really need to pull your weight or get super hard carried through that.

I wonder if the Plat/Dia will get easier over time this season or if the demotes hard filter so much people that the higher ranks will remain barren.

Sending everyone back to Bronze was a mistake that has decreased match quality.

Interest in CC has also dropped off big time since the first season, and most players are doing Savage right now, so the playerbase is thinner and more skilled (only hardcore PvPers are playing right now). It took me about 20% more wins to reach Crystal this season than in S1.
