Gathering on Friends Islands

Why can't we gather on other people's islands? Seems kinda weird that all you can do is explore would be nice to just party up and go on a gathering spree while chatting and stuff.

I guess the same reason we can't use the summoning bell in our friends houses.

You can't even listen to the orchestrion at someone else's island. So lame.

This is only temporary though.

"As of Patch 6.2, players will not be able to hear orchestrion music when visiting another island. This will be made possible in a future update."

My alts can visit my Island but can't visit my houses. They need to fix that. And yes it would be nice if we could spend time and gather with friends.

I actually would want to help my friend gather. She's terrified of water, so I'd like to gather clams and stuff for her that she will need but can't gather herself

Your alts can't visit your house? Have you tried opening your house up for the public? Because my alts can definitely visit my house

I'm talking about visiting and using a house and teleporting to it etc. Sure if you leave your house unlocked anyone can visit it. Island has a mechanic to allow people to enter.
