I don't think anyone has ever looked at estinien and thought "man that guy looks like a wimp."

He's a lanky elf. He isn't exactly physically impressive but at least when he wore his hair loose he had a high elf thing going on that looked ok. Now he just looks strange. Thancred was also way too young looking and Urianger and G'raha Tia need no explanation.

I guess if the game wants to self-select for people who are only into one type of aesthetic for men and women then it's on track to do that just like how Genshin Impact looks.

One of the things I like about the Scions is that they often do not subscribe to traditional tropes that can sometimes appear in JRPGS. Like with the twins, having the boy be more a healer who stays back and uses their intelligence, and the girl who is more hot-headed and edger to get into the frontlines of battle. The hard hitting monk who can break Zeno’s mask in half also being a slight ditsy airhead, at least at the start. Its one of the reasons why in ARR+ I was not keen on Thancred and his ‘Oh look he is a womanizer’ motif, but he became one of my favourites Scions after Shadowbringer and what they did with him and Ryne.

Thats not to say I would not like a more ‘traditionally’ masculine character (Especially if he is buff and walks around shirtless…) but I do not think it is something new character must embodie.

Men do not necessarily need facial hair to be considered masculine but I think it is definitely a masculine trait by virtue of the vast majority of women not walking around with beards or stubble.

I think that Zero is a decent enough substitute for Fordola. They're similar enough, just with different color palettes. We need better written and attractive men in this cast. At this point adding Fordola to the cast would contribute little if anything.

The male characters in this game have been extremely lacking lately, gone are the days of Ardbert, Hien, etc and now all we're left with is...Estinien and Vrtra. Neither of which are exactly impressive, with Estinien's ponytail and Vrtra's face looking way too young.

Have to agree with ppl who say they like Shadowbringers more than Endwalker. To me Endwalker was cool at the start, but absolutely mediocre by the end of it. Still don’t like Meteion(who basically came out of nowhere) as the main antagonist of the whole Hyd/Zod ark.
The same feelings I have for the post-EW MSQ as well. I am just do not intrigued anymore. I haven’t played other FFs beside FFXV, so I know nothing about the new antagonist and right know I see him as completely uninteresting, just the same feeling I had for Zenos in Stormblood. Zero looks cool and edgy and etc, but I can’t get rid of the though that I’ve seen that all “cool and edgy” attitude many times before.
At the very particular moment I prefer Panda storyline over post-MSQ. Hope this will change with next patches.

I'll say that 6.2 msq is at least more interesting and better written than 6.1. For now, I like Zero and her interaction with the party. Her "pay me if you want me to do something" is fresh breath of air after suffering 6.0. That said, she reminds me of 12 years old "OC DONT STEAL!" fanfic XD

Speaking of Void, I'm disappointed at how tame it is. I was expecting full chaos everywhere and more violence. I get that they want to show voidsent ranks and how the weak ones gather to avoid being eaten, it make sense I suppose, but nevertheless it's still not what I expect and like personally. At least the mystery surrounding Golbez is interesting and I look forward to see his conclusion. As for saving the void, I hope we won't be able to do that. The First is one thing, but 13th has been flooded for centuries, to easily reverse its situation doesn't feel appropriate. Let the heroes fail this time pls
