Rather than allowing the protagonist faction to struggle and grow it feels like after Shadowbringers everything is just handed to them literally, from Alphinaud's clothes to these magic crystals that solve everyone's problems.

Given that there's not much else to do this patch at least I can spend time in other RPGs that realize this fact and thus create more captivating and intriguing plotlines. Even people blessed by the gods in other games don't have such an easy ride as they do here.

I tried that a few times, I dont think they are as interested in other games as they claim.
FFXIV just that good.

I mean....it is a valid enough question.
Is there really an issue with Alphi getting new clothes from his Mom? It is weird to suggest this makes FFXIV a Power Fantasy, just because Alphi was handed new clothes instead of going through some struggle to obtain them.

Maybe thats not the Point Mr Aveyond is trying to make, but the fact they put it in the same sentence as "allowing the protagonist faction to struggle and grow" is very weird.
And Honestly hilarious.

I fully expected to just hold my nose through this patch because I dislike horror. I was wrong... oh so wrong.

I loved the story and the new character. Heck the trial has restored my faith in their fight design team. No sooper sekaret spot on the wall to watch or animation to interpret. I may even consider running the EX.

Ignoring the 13th would be the dumbest thing we could possibly do because it can and will affect other shards and the source if left unchecked so it's either destroy or save it. Golbez surely is not just sitting there being content with ruling over the 13th.
I mean it's a "plot convinience" that right around that time they actually plan to start doing their move we show up but yeah. I'm actually intrigued and was interested in the 13th since it was first introduced in ARR.

It was a good introduction to the workings of the 13th. A info dump with the new character as our guide to how the 13th works.

In the long run, while I thought that we might be totally moving away from the Ascians overall but this opens up the opportunity to go to other shards seeing that they ultimately sparked the Contramemoria war with the introduction of summoning. So through Atomos travel we do have the possibility to visit other shards.

Its cool that there are "peaceful" voidsent something that I wasn't totally expecting.

I am intrigued about what Golbez game is or is it truly just FF4 in FF14 and he is being manipulated Zemus
