    It's not the population that's the justification issue. It's the amount of work to get caught up and then keep things going. That's a lot of hours of expensive studio time.

    The Elder Scrolls Online launched roughly around the same time as FFXIV did and has a lot more text in general when accounting for quest dialogue, item descriptions and the five thousand or so in-game books that can be found and read. That didn't stop it recently expanding localisation for Spanish speaking players.

    Furthermore, every single bit of quest dialogue in TESO is voiced as well...

    Good for them? ESO also lets you block a power swing from a two-handed greatsword by holding up a flimsy wooden bow and watching the greatsword just bounce off of it. Their crafting system also relied extremely heavily on trading with other players, whereas FFXIV lets you level crafting largely if not entirely on your own. The simple fact is that every game will have pros and cons compared to others. ESO can have whatever it wants. I played it back in the day and found it not to my taste. I like FFXIV a lot more.
