The new abyssos armor is an eye sore

Can we get a way to turn off the animations? While I have no issues with some of the sets, the giant rings are really obnoxious to look at. At first I thought it was cool, until everyone starting to have the animation on their back. Now it is every where and I am forced to see it on my screen, just like the dark knight ability back in heavensward, it’s an eye sore.

    Side opinion:

I would have been happier if the animation sets were reserved for savage raiders. There would have been less around to look at and in the end would have probably gotten more people into the savage community.

Im sure there's a lot of people who were happy that then sfx armors can be easily obtained and not relegated to hard content, but I'm also curious to see how even more flavorful the savage sets would be.

Regardless, I would love for them to implement a toggle for the effects in gear.

The thing is even if they were in savage they'd be easily obtainable, just wait an expansion and steamroll em
I'm kinda sad they didn't make both versions dyeable, but you only get the glows from savage

Is it me or is that a backwards way of thinking? Harder content should reward more unique looking armor/trinkets compared to their easier counterparts, right? Eh, I am arguing against the wind though, lol.

No, I also agree that this armor should have been only available in savage.

I too was surprised to see a sudden add of easily accessible shiny armour, and whilst some of the pieces look cool others are quite obnoxious thats true.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it though, the hype will probably die out soon enough unless sfx armour will be a staple in the future but this is a final fantasy game after all, Id be more concerned of seeing yet again large pockets attached to shirts or belts in random places more than anything else xD.

Normal should be dyeable and save have the effects. And armor effects should be a toggle under settings — along with a toggle to hide your helmet during cutscenes (shameless plug)

But if they made a toggle they'd have to respect it, and then they wouldn't be able to jar me out of my immersion during their emotionally-impactful cutscenes by removing my character's chosen glasses/horns/mask to show me one of four Default Racial Faces.

I was expecting them to be Savage only, but it was a pleasant surprise to see them more accessible. I think they are fine, but I see nothing wrong with a toggle for such effects. In a few weeks' time you will start seeing a bit less of them around as the new and shiny factor begins to wear off and the dyeable versions become a pretty regular sight.

By the way, it makes your forum's profile picture has more hue on the background, so IMO it looks good
